Thick-Style Lebanese Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
Just finished making this to have with dinner tonight, and am hoping the garlic flavor mellows out a bit as it chills, it's got a pretty strong bite to it. I slowly added the oils and lemon juice, alternating them, and used an immersion blender. It was fairly thick, but not quite the mayo texture I'm used to, so instead of egg white I added about a teaspoon of merengue powder and it thickened up beautifully. Might try this in the food processor next time, my immersion blender was heating up!

Omelet Biscuit Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Just made these for brunch, and my boyfriend gives them "5 out of 5!" Delish... I used a jumbo muffin pan and then made 4 smaller ones with a regular pan- using 1/2 a biscuit as other reviews suggested. I used 6 eggs and substituted green peppers for the mushrooms. I did saute the peppers first to get some of the moisture out. The jumbo ones baked for the same time as the smaller ones- about 11 minutes. Next time I think I will use sausage and pour some sausage gravy over the top. Very easy, filling, and nice enough for company. I'll probably make these for Easter brunch and serve with fruit salad. Thanks for the recipe!

Piggy Wiggys

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Can't go wrong with these! I just pressed the crescent roll triangles together and cut them into strips (the short way), then cut those in 1/2, stretched them enough to fit around the sausage and they were perfect in 12 minutes. Served them with BBQ sauce on the side. 1 pack of rolls covered just about a whole pack of sausages- I think I had 3 or 4 sausages left over. These don't last long, I'd recommend making a double batch! Good served warm or at room temp.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Made this last night for a hockey party- we didn't win, but the dip sure was a hit! I used a Mexican cheese blend and mixed it in with everything else, doubled the jalapenos then topped it with panko bread crumbs per some other suggestions, and it turned out great. This will be a standard party appetizer for me!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Made this tonight- it was DELISH! I doubled the recipe and ran out of ketchup so I added 1/4 bbq sauce to it (old stand by- Open Pit hickory flavor) and it turned out great! I also added some chopped green pepper because I had it on hand, and cut the brown sugar to 1/2. I will definitely make this again, love the fact that all of the ingredients are pretty much staples.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
These are pretty good. I used less crisco and more butter to bring out the flavor. Also, you'll probably get 48 cookies if you use a tablespoon, but if you're making these for Christmas cookies to gift, if you use a teaspoon and bake for 7 minutes, you'll get close to 6 dozen.

Chicken Enchilada Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
This is a keeper! I seldom make it as a dip, usually use it as a filler for enchiladas with the red sauce from this site. We attend or host a tequila tasting party every year, and these are a must have on the list. Very filling, so I sometimes use the small flour taco shells instead of burrito sized, especially for a party.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
This recipe ROCKS! I took it to a Halloween party a few years ago, and now I can't show up around that crowd without it. Always requested, and easy to double or half. I always use fresh boiled, shredded chicken breasts instead of canned as well, and a bit more cheese than called for, so it's nice and gooey. I have passed this recipe on whenever I've taken it somewhere.

Lamb Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
I make this recipe all the time, it's very flexible and you can add any veggies you like, I like to throw in green beans and mushrooms in addition to the carrots, onion and celery. The broth is great, and I just usually use beef broth instead of the consomme. Sometimes I also use diced beef stew meat and simmer for a while until tender.
