Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
My daughter made this for my birthday last week. Wow, so very moist and delicious! This is a new family favorite! The alteration we will make next time is using about half the coconut/condensed milk mixture. We baked ours in a bundt pan, and it was too much liquid and we had to toss some of it. We also made our own coconut cream cheese frosting instead of using frozen whipped topping. Just decadent!

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
I'm eating these as I type! Very good. I used the Nestle 62% Chocolatier as the grated chocolate, and it cut down on the sweetness. Great texture and flavor in these cookies. They will be gone quickly, I can tell!

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
Very good. I have made a similar recipe before, and this is just as good. Lots of yummy fudge sauce on the bottom. Don't make the same mistake I did... I only had an 8" pan, and it overflowed in my oven!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
I made these for Christmas Eve dinner, and they were a huge hit. They turned out much larger than I thought they would. Really nice flavor and texture. This is a keeper for sure!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
A word of caution... if you make these, be prepared to become addicted to them! WOW! This is the best recipe I have ever tried, and it is now my standard. I added just a tiny bit more brown sugar and cinnamon to the spread. I think this dough would also make great dinner rolls, as it's not too sweet.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was my first attempt at making a prime rib roast. It was outstanding! I took the advice of other reviewers and cut the thyme in half and added rosemary. I also used kosher salt. Be sure you have a good meat thermometer (mine was cheap and off by about 20 degrees!) and do take it out when it reaches 135 on the thermometer. My family has requested this again for any day of the week!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
Wow! These are hard to resist! Delicious! I bumped up the cinnamon to 3/4 tsp. I also put the egg mixture in a zip top bag and the cinnamon mixture too. Easy to shake n bake.

Banana Cream Pie III

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
This was a HUGE hit at Thanksgiving! What an easy recipe! I took the advice of other members and used one pkg. french vanilla & one pkg. banana cream pudding mixes. This would be a great dessert to make in a hurry for unexpected guests!

Very moist cookie! I used Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake mix, and added the 2 tbs. oil. I can't wait to make these again using other flavors! Very quick and easy to make too.

Simple Scones

Outstanding! I added a dash of cinnamon & nutmeg, leaving out the raisins. Very tasty with a nice texture. Not too sweet either. Easy to make.

Buttermilk Biscuits I

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
Very easy to make. I followed the advice given in changing over to all purpose flour, and it worked nicely. Next time, I may add a touch of bacon grease to add just a little more flavor. Very good taste and tender texture.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
DELICIOUS! I made this to go along with "Get A Husband Brunswick Stew." My children don't like cornbread, but the ate this up quickly! Very moist and sweet with a wonderful texture. This is my new standard cornbread recipe!

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
This is OUTSTANDING! Very much like the Brunswick Stew served at Smokey Bones. I did use the prepared pulled pork in BBQ sauce, and it was even better. I also reduced the corn to one can of creamed, and it was just right for us.

Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
Delicious! My kids could not believe how wonderful this was. I served it with Thanksgiving dinner. It did not take the full three cups of water, just enough to barely cover the apples. I also added cinnamon, which was very tasty. Thank you for sharing this!! It will be made again!

Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
This was an excellent recipe! My husband requested sausage stuffing like his mother makes, and this recipe came very close. I made my bread cubes too large, so it needed a little stock added to it. Otherwise, it turned out very tasty, especially in the bird! Thanks so much!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
I have 4 recipes for Pumpkin bread, and this is by far the one I use the most. I have large bread pans, and I get two loaves every time. This recipe is the moistest, most flavorful one I have ever tried. It gets rave reviews from my friends! The loaves pretty much disappear in a day!
