Funnel Cakes IV

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
These turned out great! The only other thing I would've done was put the batter into a squeeze bottle of some sort to make it easier to use-I did the plastic bag method, and it was very messy. Aside from that it was a super yummy, easy Father's Day dessert. I served them with ice cream and blueberries. Will be making these a lot!

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: May 20, 2011
This quiche was great. I doubled the recipe for a 9/13, used mozzarella instead of swiss, added garlic, and one bag of frozen broccoli. Baked for about 50 mins, then sprinkled with feta and parmesan cheese, baked for another 5 mins. The whole family loved it!

London Broil II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
Oh my, this was so good! We're big ribeye fans, so we always compare other cuts of beef to that. Both my kids enjoyed this better than a ribeye! It was so flavorful and tender. We followed the marinade recipe exactly and marinated overnite. We did use a meat tenderizer prior to marinating. Grilled it for 3 minutes on each side on high heat, then another 3 minutes on each side on lower heat. Sliced thin cross-grain and it was a huge hit for our Father's Day lunch!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
I decided to try something new for my "Chicken Fried Rice" recipe. I used 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of the thighs. I used brown sugar instead of white, and I baked them in a 8x8" pan. Had I not been cutting this chicken into chunks and mixing it in my fried rice, I would have had to give this recipe 3 stars. The chicken was very tough, I'm not sure if it was the sauce or something else. I followed the instructions exactly, so I don't know what happened. The flavors in the sauce were great, and it was very easy to make. I will make this again, but only for my fried rice.

Challah I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
I have made this recipe four times now, and everytime it turns out great. I always put 3/4 cup of honey instead of 1/2, and I add raisins. After the bread is done, and baste it in butter and then sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the top. I like to either do a 5 or 6 strand braid, and then swirl the loaf into a circle. I have been using all purpose flour, but today I'm trying bread flour. We'll see how it turns out. Thanks for the recipe!

Crustless Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This was very good! Instead of the cranberries I used left-over homemade cranberry relish that was frozen from Thanksgiving. It turned the batter a reddish/brown color, but it tasted great! I did cut back on the sugar; since the relish already had plenty in it. Will make again!

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I made this cake for Thanksgiving, and everyone said it was better than the pecan pie! This cake was great, I havent' had a honey bun in awhile, but everyone said it tasted just like them! The cake was so moist and light. I baked it in a bundt pan for only 45 minutes, and it came out great. Any longer than that would have been overcooked. I only made half the icing, and it was a great amount. Three days later and this cake is still moist and yummy:) It's totally worth trying!

Baklava

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
This baklava recipe is wonderful. I have never made baklava before, and I wanted to make it for a friend in the hospital that was just diagnosed with leukemia. I hope this helps to cheer her up, because I couldn't stop eating it! It was a little hard to get the phyllo to co-operate, but you get the hang of it. I also had this sitting in the fridge for several days, and it was still great. Oh, I also had to use about 2 Tbsp more butter than the recipe called for. I'm known with my friends for making some yummy desserts, and I had several people tell me this was the best I've ever made. I would love to make it more often, but the caloric content is scary! I cut my 9/13 into 24 pieces, and each piece had 300 c*%$#@*s. IT WAS GREAT

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
These cookies are wonderful. They are one of the easiest cookie recipes out there, they are very quick and they turn out great! When I made them I used Natural Organic peanut butter, and I cut out a 1/2 cup of sugar. Everyone that comes into contact with these cookies eats at least 2!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
I made this cheesecake for Easter. It was delicious. My whole family loved it! It was time consuming, but a fairly easy cheesecake recipe to follow. Very strong white chocolate flavor, but I might add more raspberry next time. Thanks!~*~PitBullFreak~*~

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
These cookies were good, I got alot of comments on them, but I didn't think they were GREAT. They took forever to bake, probably like 20 minutes. But, they were a good recipe and very easy to make. Nice texture but not a whole lot of flavor. Will probably try the Award Winning chocolate chip cookies next time.

Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
This syrup was really good. But, I did change it alot. I don't eat sugar, so I substitued the sugar for 1/2 a tsp. of Stevia. I changed the corn syrup (YUCK) to molasses and that's it! It was really good-but WOW does it expand when you throw that baking soda in there-I wonder what that is for???? Thanks!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
This is the second time I have made this pie, it was very good the first time....but I made some changes the second time, and it was MUCH better! I used 1.5 cups of 1/2&1/2, and 1.5 cups of coconut milk, I didn't toast the coconut I put IN the pie, I thought it tasted kind of bitter and chewy with it toasted. The filling was way to much for one thin pie crust, it filled 2 of mine. I also added some coconut extract..(half coconut/half vanilla) It was very good this time, but I think I need to add some more coconuty something-maybe add coconut extract into the homemade whipped cream? Thanks so much for the recipe! We devoured it in seconds!

Shredded Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
This is the best brussel sprout recipe ever!! It is such a pretty dish, very summery and green, the pine nuts look so pretty in there! My whole family loved these, even my super -picky brother. The only thing was we had to core and shred all the brussel sprouts by hand! That took a little while! We will make these many more times!! Thanks:)

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
These biscuits were terrible:( I was looking forward to a wonderful fluffy biscuit-- simialar to a rest. food chain-"Cracker Barrel" but these were horrible. First of all they did not looked cooked at all, they looked like we just put them in the oven, they did rise up but they never turned golden or fluffy. They were very dry, and they stuck to the backs of your teeth. I will not make these again. Thanks anyway.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
OMGracious!!! These were soooo good!! The name was kind of freaking me out--but the flavor floored me!!!!!!!!AWESOME! The only change I'll make next time is to add more salt, like maybe another 1/2 teaspoon. To make it 1.5tsp. of salt. But besides that they were great!! I will be taking these to brunches, showers, weddings, and all kinds of "Food Oriented" partys, especially "Breakfast". I think the name should be changed to something like....."Spinach Squares" or "Spinach Cheese Bread" or something that doesn't make you think of chocolate....which i like to think of !! haha Thanks for the recipe, ~*~PitBullFreak~*~

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

These muffins were very moist, and the topping was "TO DIE FOR"!!:) The only thing that went wrong was- I didn't use a non-stick pan, so they didn't come out very good.....but they still taste the same!!! Thanks,
