Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
O.M.G. these were FANTASTIC. I gave it four stars since I had to add more bread crumbs to hold everything together. I also had to bake them longer on each side, about 14 minutes, ONLY because my oven is a little off. Otherwise, my husband loved them! I took the suggestion of also draining the excess liquid from the veggies after the food processor...I think that helped a lot! This will be a staple in our household from now on. I'd like to experiment with freezing patties to have on hand whenever we need them!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2012
Very good recipe! I used what I had on hand...EVOO in place of vegetable oil. When the sauce was mixed together, it was a nice, creamy texture and had a good zing to it (I added a tad bit more than 1TBSP of vinegar). Will be my go-to recipe for coleslaw! I used red onion, and added in some finely diced carrots as well, both for color :)

Di's Delicious Deluxe Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
Fabulous! Did the recipe to scale for 18 servings since i had 9 eggs...and they turned out delicious. Took them to a goodbye party and they were all gone quick. Loved the crunch from the celery and the onion!!!

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
SO delicious, and SOOO tender! Followed the recipe to a T and it was perfect. My mother used to boil her ribs before grilling and they were always juicy and soft. This is nice because grilling isn't easy for me...we share a grill with neighbors in the building out at the pool...a little inconvenient. I love being able to re-create BBQ ribs, one of my favorite ways to eat pork, in my own kitchen!

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
these are divine. i was confused at first about when to start counting down the '8 minutes'....8 minutes as soon as you put it on the stove? or 8 minutes after it start boiling? so, i just started the 8 minutes as soon as i turned the burner on, while also using a candy thermometer to check the temp...and it worked! did a test batch first, and now that i know this is fool proof, delicious, and hella easy, i will be making a whole bunch of these candied walnuts to give away for christmas!

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
this was SO easy, it was ridiculous! didn't have the dried minced garlic, so i used what i had on hand...regular minced garlic from the jar (about two teaspoons). Also, I added about a teaspoon of sugar to cut the tartness of the canned sauce/paste.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
made this one twice. very easy crust, and looks gorgeous, too! i didn't have time to let it rise a full hour, so i preheated the oven to 170, turned it off, and let the dough rise in there for 30 minutes instead. i've made it before by adding onion powder to it and that was really delicious as well.

Real Hummus

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
This was an easy recipe, and I used my dried chickpeas that i cooked in the slow cooker. Tastes great, a little thick, but still awesome none the less. I may have used more chickpeas than what was required in the ingredients..plus almost all of the cooking liquid from the slow cooker was gone. I have a blender/mini food processer combo appliance...DID NOT work in the blender, so I had to switch to the food processor instead. It probably would have been no sweat if I had a bigger-capacity processor.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
easy to follow recipe with minimal ingredients however, some of my pita breads did not puff up, and when I went to cut them, there was no "pocket" so I had to very carefully dig a hole in the center of those that did not puff. still, great recipe and easy to make, tastes great. i think next time I will add extra salt per other reviews.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
OMG. This stew was so awesome and SO easy! Left it on for my bf to come home to and he ate almost half the pot by himself lol. Followed the recipe instructions and all ingredients...i just added a half cup of wine. i think the wine gave it good flavor, just next time i think im going to just use like a 1/3 cup instead.

Spinach Salad with Honey Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
I was making a simple spinach salad with red onions and tomatoes and only needed a dressing. This Honey Dressing has AMAZING flavor. I used what I had on hand and only had garlic salt, so I used that to replace the onion salt that I did not have. Delicious warm dressing that my boyfriend loved too. Put it in the fridge and pulled it out this morning for leftover salad for breakfast, and it was VERY thick, so I think you are supposed to re-heat it, but it was still yummy cold :)

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Very moist...in fact, maybe a little too moist?? Don't know if this is a bad or good thing but it almost seemed a little mushy. Maybe it's because I left it on for 9-ish hours...BUT all in all, better moist than dry. very delicious flavors and couldn't believe that it came from my slow cooker! Instead of foil balls i used carrots, celery, and onions.

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
HOLY MONKEY! this recipe is AWESOME. After i mixed in the oatmeal, white chocolate chips and walnuts (instead of pralines), I was a little worried that they were too chunky, and not enough cookie..but they came out PERFECT. the texture was great, and everyone's eating them up!!! this recipe will be frequently used from now on! this makes a HUGE batch...so I baked 3 doz, and then the rest I balled up (prob 2 doz?) and froze them on a cookiesheet so I can bake them up late....r

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
very good recipe! i was missing some ingredients, so i used what i had and they still turned out really well. i baked mines for 25 min at 375 degrees instead of frying...frying meatballs takes forever and you have to keep turning them, plus they get super greasy. baking solves these problems! you can freeze them up for later use, too! highly recommended!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
O...M....G! I had a craving for these, and i havent had them in years, this recipe is awesome! i was a little worried when i mixed the beef, it seemed really mushy, and it didn't seem like one tiny can of tomato soup was going to cut it, but i added a little bit of water to the pan, and the hamburger juices mixed into the soup real well. super tender and real tasty with such few ingredients! love it!
