About this Cook
I love to cook and with three boys (20,16 &15) I get to do a lot of it. We always have extra boys on the weekends and holidays, so I can cook man food very well. Interesting twist, my niece's five year old daughter just came to live with us, so I am relearning to cook for a child!
My favorite things to cook
Lots of comfort food. However, I have adapted a couple stir fry recipes from here, and my sons want to eat either a beef or chicken stir fry a couple times a week. The problem with this web site is that there are so many delicious recipes, that I try several out each week. I'm not known for one good dish, but the boys like eating here because there's always something new, and usually delicious!
My favorite family cooking traditions
No real traditions. My boys know how to cook and they alternate preparing a meal every Thursday night. They've been doing that since they were in elementary school. Looking forward to having Grace become a part of that tradition.
My cooking triumphs
We hold a Cinco De Mayo party for 60 people every year, and I prepare all the food from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
Long, long time ago decided to cook dinner for new bf. Pork chops were burned and frozen peas were cold. He ate everything, but I think we broke up soon after that, he ended up marrying my roommate! LOL

Egg and Sausage Casserole
Have made this twice. We really enjoyed it. Only rated 4 stars because the crescent rolls definitely must be pre-baked per other reviews. Did so the first time, and forgot the second time. Definitely makes a difference. Add seasoning and ingredients at your discretion

Edamame Dip (Edamole)
I usually follow recipes to the "t" but was in a hurry and did not have chipolte in adobo, so substituted a fresh jalepeno (minus seeds) instead. This dip was amazing! I was told to bring it to every get together from now on. It was gone in minutes.

London Broil II
I used 2 tbs low salt soy sauce and 1 tbsp teriyaki marinade. Still way too salty for us, must be the teriyaki sauce. Otherwise, very good. Used chuck roast steaks, pierced with fork, put in zip lock bag and added marinade. Turned out very tender. Will try again.
