Sangria by the Pros

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Delicious and potent. I added a mixture of fruit and as a personal preference, I would not use citrus or apple. Next time I will stick to blueberries, raspberries and cherries.

Pork with Peach and Black Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
I feel that the cornmeal greatly declined the quality of this recipe. I read other reviews and took the time to make sure the cornmeal created a nice crispy crust, but once the other ingredients were added, the cornmeal crust began to breakdown. The sauce became grainy. I didn't like the texture one bit, but the taste was pretty good. Will try this one again without the cornmeal.

Quinoa Muffins with Peaches and Pecans

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Well, these muffins are ok. I made the following changes: I used canned peaches instead of dried, there for I didn't cook them with apple cider. I did add about 1/4 cup apple cider concentrate, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg and just over 1/4 teaspoon of cloves. They turned out all right, they're a little dense and sticky and they are a little bland. I'm going to keep playing with the recipe.

I was not a fan of this cake. For the amount of fat and calories in it i found it incredibly bland.

Incredibly yummy. I cut the recipe down to make 2 pies because it was my first attempt at tourtiere. But next time I just might make the full recipe for the freezer!!

Whole Grain Breakfast Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
Love these!! I didn't have any nuts on hand so i replaced it with 3/4 cup of spelt bran. I also used honey instead of the Avave, and I used 2 eggs. They turned out wonderfully, no crumbling at all. These will definitely be a staple in our home!!

Apple Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
These pork chops were tasty. I took other reviewers suggestions and added only half of the package of onion soup mix and added some cinnamon to the apple sauce.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
I love this recipe!! I served it at a pig roast, and every one loved it. The only change I made was to the onions. I don't enjoy raw onions, so I sauteed them in some of the remaining bacon fat before adding them to the salad. Not at all healthy, but deliscious!!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Excellent. I took another reviewers suggestion and added some seasonings to the crust. With the salt and the olive oil I added 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Then while I was mixing in the flower I added 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese. I shaped the dough into two harts for valentines day dinner, and my husband loved it. This will definitely be my standard pizza dough recipe!

Simple Country Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
I love it!! This recipe is so easy. I add 1 or 2 cans of guinness beer to the pot before adding water. Then after removing the ribs I reduce the sauce to a thicker consistency to baste the ribs on the grill.

French Onion Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
Did not like this at all. I used another reviewers suggestion to mix the butter, onion soup and cheese together. BAD IDEA!!!! Dipping the bread this way puts way too much onion soup and cheese toping on your rolls and they end up ridiculously salty. I can't eat them and it's a shame because I went to all the trouble of actually making fresh bread to use instead of frozen.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Fabulous bread and easy to make. It makes three good sized loaves. Make sure to watch your cooking time. I made the mistake of setting the timer for the full and not checking my bread until it went off. My bread turned out to be a little browner than I would have liked.

Festive Turkey Meatballs

This recipe was fantastic!! The meatballs were tender and juicy. The best part is that the sauce is versatile, and also works well with baked pork chops.
