White Texas Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
I didn't have the size pan it needed so I used a 9x13 and just baked it for 10 extra minutes came out fine...my problem is the frosting...made it exactly like it said and it came out like silly putty, I'm imagining this is what fondant is like, I had to Mold it onto my cake I could literally pick it up in my hands and shape it like putty...will not be using that frosting recipe again.

Mom's Fabulous Chicken Pot Pie with Biscuit Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2014
Just got done making mine, I took the super easy route and used a rotisserie chicken and shredded it as I was sautéing my veg. I stirred together the chicken frozen peas and some frozen corn from our garden which is SUPER good then added the seasonings then the cooked veg and then stirred in Turkey gravy from a jar, spread it in a casserole dish topped with Cheddar Pepperidge Farm biscuits ;)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2014
I also made mine in the crock pot, I baked my potatoes in the microwave as I did that I sauteed the onions in butter, I used chicken broth instead of water and added the broth, sauteed onion, ham, celery seed, grated carrot (which was like pulp when I added it)salt and pepper to the crock, then made my roux and used one cup milk one cup heavy cream and added some real bacon bits and shredded cheddar cheese and whisked until melted then added that to the crock took the skin off the potatoes and chopped them then added to crock, stir everything and topped with a fistful of green onion ;) delicious

Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2014
Eating this now :) YUM everyone in my family LOVES it! I heeded everyone's advise and used a can of cream of mushroom soup also used fresh mushrooms we cooked with the beef and onions, used the squeezed garlic from a tube, and added a bit of beef broth just to thin it out a bit so it's like gravy. I made real mashed potatoes and OMG there is no way this is as good on pasta or rice as it is over a big helping of creamy buttery mashed potatoes :)My mom said this one is a keeper will be making it on a regular basis it's cheap and it's delicious!

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2014
Making this today since I had all the ingredients on hand, only I'm making it in a crock pot and since I didn't have a full container of sour cream I also used half a block of cream cheese...will post the results but cold it tastes REALLY good, the fresh green onion really elevates it :) great recipe. Ok turned out great in the slow cooker but like another comment said it was literally SWIMMING in butter, I probably have drained off at least half a stick so far, I didn't use the crumb topping either, and it's just a little salty but I love salt all and all VERY tasty :)

Rich Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I loved it, my mom hated it but she doesn't like spicy food. I left out the salt like everyone says but I could tell not to add it just by tasting it after I melted the cheese and soup in the microwave. I'd probably add more green beans next time as well it was a lot of cheese.

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
Pretty good, I got chuck like it said and cooked it for about 4hrs on high in the crock but it was getting late so I ended up taking the meat along with all the juice and sauce in the croc and put it all in the pressure cooker for about 35 min. Took the meat out of the pressure cooker shredded it and added a little more BBQ sauce from the bottle stirred it up while it was still hot and it was very good. I used Bob Evans Wildfire BBQ sauce I got from Kroger.
