MmMmMm, this is one of my fav cakes. Even my hubby, who isn't a fan of cake, likes it. To simplify things, I create only two layers with one batter. When following the cake mix directions, I substitute coffee for water, apple sauce for oil/butter and use egg beaters... then after baking, I use a baster (the paint brush type) to brush the coffee/liqueur mixture over both layers. Splenda (the original powdery kind) replaces confectioners' sugar in the filling and frosting. This is the perfect dessert after an Italian dinner!
