Almond Crunch Granola

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2015
I have only made granola a handful of times but maybe I should have known better. It tasted DELICIOUS before cooking. Cooking absolutely ruined it. I stirred it frequently but didn't realize it was burning (except around the edges one time when I didn't spread it out evenly). By the time I let it go the last few minutes it was a goner. I will make this recipe again for the flavor but the baking instructions were way off for me. I know everybody's oven is different but I've never had this issue with a recipe. A more experienced granola maker would have used their judgment and common sense. Both of which were lacking on my end. I will probably use a lower temp and shorter bake time.

Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2015
Wanted to add this for the reviewer that said one detail was missing...."when to add lemon juice". I followed his/her advice and then realized the reason it doesn't say WHEN is because it's for the GLAZE not the bread itself. That particular reviewer stated he/she didn't make the glaze. It's too bad this reviewer is one of the first ones that pop up. Now I don't have the juice I need for the glaze. :( My fault.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2015
Been making these (thanks to this recipe) for years. Love it. Only tip I have, be sure to grate your own carrots or they will be DRY! I find when I either grate/pulse in a food processor the carrots 2 cups is a little much for the carrots too. I think 2 cups for the dry/stiff pre-shredded might be ok (if you figured a way to moisten them up a bit) but for hand grated ones it seems to "pack" in too much. Just my opinion. Recioe is forgiving. I've changed it up just out of necessity and will usually cut the sugar (for kids' sake). Thank you for years of yummy muffins!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2014
It's official, my husband said this was better than his grandma's cornbread (shhh) and the only recipe I could use. I have been experimenting lately to try to make our cornbread low in "points" for WW. I threw that out the window tonight and made this. It was a hit. Thanks!

Snickerdoodles III

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if this is just different than I'm used to but mine stayed in little balls. I'm used to them flattening and softening and getting nice and crackly looking. I chose this one because I didn't have more than 1/2 cup of butter and no shortening. Oh well, could have very well been my fault but I will go back to my usual.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2013
I thought these were delicious. I've been using this recipe for a few years and everyone loves them. I only make them to bring somewhere because I don't want to eat too many if they are around my house! I'm not sure what the people who said they were "cakey" were expecting. In my experience "Pumpkin Bars" are always cake-like. If you are expecting something different, I would look for a different recipe. I think it's just something people have always called them because you make them in a "bar" or jelly roll pan? Thanks for a great recipe. Oh, I think I always add in spices (I only make these once a year so sometimes I forget) that seem right at the time.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2013
Very good! I did add extra sugar (quite a bit, maybe 4 T in all) because I'm not a syrup fan. Probably shouldn't because my kids love syrup and put maple syrup on them! I've tried MANY recipes, this is a keeper for sure. I've never thought beating the egg whites separately until fluffy made much of a difference, even though I almost always use a recipe that calls for that. I like recipes that are slightly sweet and not "eggy" tasting. This one fits the bill. The secret if you don't like "soggy" (I don't care either way) is to watch your waffle maker and get to know it. Don't rely on the light to go off or on. If you like yours more crispy, and it's still steaming quite a bit, don't open it yet. You won't want to wait until the steam stops completely, most likely, but lessens. I'm not sure if the irons are on timers or sensors but just watch for steam amount. Thanks for a simple, delicious recipe.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2013
These really are the best chocolate chip cookies! I've tried many recipes...they are all okay. But this one was delicious! I didn't add walnuts but followed recipe otherwise. Also, I used salted butter and cut down the butter just a tiny bit, I always have salted butter but not un-salted so that's what I used. I made them very big, the biggest of the three Pampered Chef scoops...I think they took about 14 minutes. To the reviewer that said they were so hard you could break your teeth the next day, I think you made an error. These stayed soft for days. I think I finally have a "go to" chocolate chip cookie recipe now. Thanks!

Wonderful Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2013
This recipe is pretty good. Extra steps don't scare me away. I am a mom to 4 kids and usually decide to make things on a whim...rather, when they ask me I look up and make. My electric mixer situation is pathetic (kitchen-aid needs repairing, hand mixer only has one beater!) and I didn't think these took a crazy amount of time at all. FlavEor was pretty good I'd say, not the absolute best but good. I did add vanilla. One thing I will say, they seem to take longer to cook if you want them crispy. Longer than the waffle iron seems to sense. If you want them crispy and your waffle iron is still steaming, let it go longer. Evan if the waffle iron says its done, if it's still steaming they will be soft. Thanks for the recipe.

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2013
Thought this was great. I did follow another reviewers suggestion because the salt seemed like a lot. I halved it. My kids love me to add bananas and chocolate chips to our regular recipe so I did (and vanilla) and it adapted wonderfully! I made no other adjustments, just added our favorites. I've never actually made buttermilk pancakes and these were good! Thanks for a great recipe!!

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
Very good recipe. Only thing we do is usually use cheddar. Sometimes I add very finely chopped broccoli to it. Have been using this recipe for years. I did try to make ahead once and it didn't work well. My fault. Things settle badly when it's left too long. Thanks!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
These were a great treat! I liked them as did my family. As did my 4 year old's preschool class. Only thing I did differently, I was afraid of adding too much flour because of other reviews, I added only about 3 cups of flour per recipe.....so the one I trippled, I only used about 9-10 cups of flour. Maybe I should have followed directions and just added water as needed but I followed other reviewers suggestions. And they turned out delicious. Thanks.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
I think it's a great recipe. Made as is, used un-salted butter because I had it on hand. Cooked 10 min. I used the Pampered Chef scoop (smallest one) and I got approx. 80 cookies that way. Thanks!

This recipe turns out SO good! I never knew French dressing was so easy to make. I've make it twice. It makes a lot so I did halve it the first time. Thanks for sharing!

Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Love this recipe. My family does and guests always do to. Only change I made because I was out of regular onion was to use green onions. Now we prefer it that way. Such a great alternative to using an expensive box with crappy additives. Thanks for a great recipe!

This was delicious! Only change I made (for the sake of saving money) was I used the dressing mix that was already "dill" flavor. Then I omitted the dill weed. Thanks for a great recipe!!
