About this Cook
I'm married w/4 kids, and a full time graduate student. I love to bake and try to keep homemade stuff in the house to cut down on my family's consumption of packaged 'junk'. We sit down to dinner together every night, so I try to plan meals that are kid and husband-friendly, as well as quick and healthy.
My favorite things to cook
stir-frys, roasts, chicken breasts done a million different ways, breakfast foods, quick breads, cookies and various desserts
My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned to cook from watching my mom, and now my daughters watch and help me. We try and make something together at least once a week, and my son sometimes gets involved, too. Holidays are especially a time for the whole family to help out.
My cooking triumphs
Usually, my desserts turn out pretty good, and my deviled eggs and lemon bars are in high demand at family functions.
My cooking tragedies
Wow, lots! I have a bad habit of getting involved w/something and forgetting about the grill, so we've had our share of 'blackened' meats :). I sometimes get too adventurous w/my casseroles and come up w/something noone but me will try :)

Peanut Butter Bars I
Even though the bottom of these never got completely firm for me, these were still outstanding ~ completely addictive and delicious.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles
These really are wonderful. I used half brown suger & half white & had to refrigerate the dough for a bit to work w/it. Whole family loved them.

Loose Meat on a Bun, Restaurant Style
These are great ~ after years of making sloppy joes, we've switched to these after trying them last month. The only change i make is adding a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix for extra flavor, and i usually let them simmer for a couple hours before serving.
