Chicken Pot Pie IX
I did make it just as the recipe states and tasted it before freezing and it was wonderful. Best I've ever tasted. However, what I did was make the filling and then freeze it in a zip lock bag. It didn't go well. When I defrosted it the sauce had separated and it looked like the milk had curdled. It didn't taste off although it had lost some of it's flavor, and we ate it but I won't freeze it again. It tasted so good before it went into the freezer that I was really looking forward to having the pie. Oh well, lesson learned. I will make it again.

Chef John's Smothered Pork Chops
This did not turn out the way I had hoped. I followed the recipe except didn't have poultry seasoning. Browning the chops went fine. I drained the fat and added the butter and onions. Cooked the onions as directed but they started cooking too fast so I turned down the heat to below medium. In 7 minutes the onions started to burn so I turned the heat down a little more and added the garlic. The onions were really getting dry by this time so I added the flour and got a crumbly paste. I added some of the chicken broth and cooked a couple of minutes. When I added the rest of the broth the onions that weren't burned just dissolved. I finished cooking as directed and basically got onion gravy. It was tasty but I won't be making it again. IMO the cooking times and temperature are off.

Cranberry Sauce I
Who knew Cranberry Sauce was so easy to make. Followed the recipe exactly and it was a big hit at Thanksgiving. Will never buy canned again.
