Lemon Syllabub

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2014
This was simple and tasty. I had left over heavy whipping cream and this was refreshing way to. I was surprised how much the white wine (Chardonnay) added to the flavor. I wound up adding a bit more lemon to balance it out.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
It was OK, but I will leave french onion soup to real chefs for now. This is a fair amount of work and I did not think the results I got were worth the effort.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
This was better than to kabobs we were purchasing at the butcher. I used some of the marinade on some squash for the grill and it was also great.

Quick and Easy Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2014
A great way to finish baked potatoes when grilling. We have done the microwave and oven combination to speed up the process for many years, but finishing it in the grill when you already have it running was awesome. I did coat the entire potatoes halves with olive oil and sprinkled with kosher salt and pepper. Really did not need any butter or sour creme added!

Best Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2014
Keeper! Used this last night and it was great. I substituted white wine for the water and as I watch sodium content I used Mrs Dash Lemon Pepper as suggested by others. Paired with http://allrecipes.com/recipe/quick-and-easy-grilled-potatoes/detail.aspx this was awesome. Like salad dressings, I plan to never buy a marinade again and this will be in my arsenal. Should be good for chicken also.

Asian Ginger Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2014
Keeper! Followed other reviewers on the soy and sesame oil and added some toasted sesame seeds. Will follow advice on freezing ginger next time. Update - using lower sodium soy, I have done this as written with one enhancement, I placed the ingredients in a blender. This allows you to "blend" the garlic and ginger into the dressing reducing the effort to mince them. Still chop them, but the blender makes for a smoother dressing. The hint to freeze the ginger also works well, but the blender helps more.

Keeper! Skipped the sugar and garlic salt and added 2 cloves minced garlic and a dash of kosher salt. I will try with some mushrooms added next time.

My wife is death on package gravy and this makes a nice way to soup it up closer to what she would make from turkey drippings.

Really nice lemon flavor carried into the chicken. Chicken was fork tender from the slow cooker and with carrots and potatoes added was a great meal.

Beef Bourguignon I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2014
Great recipe but a bit fussy to cook. The marinade was great and the overall flavor was excellent. Next time I will likely cook the mushrooms with the other veggies and after the sauce is cooked down put it all in the crockpot to finish it.

Lentil Soup

Right on recipe! I used home made chicken stock (lower sodium) and then added some diced chicken. An instant hit! My wife said it was "lighter" than she expected and asked for some for her lunch tomorrow. Footnote: This has become our favorite Allrecipes selection!
