Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
Wow! I always forget to write reviews, but this was the most AMAZING kabob I have ever had. Ever. I love the taste of rosemary, and it needs to be fresh just like the recipe calls for. I got so many compliments. Nobody wanted the steak kabobs with a store bought marinade. I used Wild Coyote ranch from Wal-Mart. Thanks for an incredible recipe!

Crunchy Romaine Toss

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
I gave this 4 stars but it was wonderful! I just made some changes per the other reviews on the site. I only used 2 Tbsp sugar and used EVOO instead of vegetable. I didn't use onions. This was one of the only salads that was gone at our family reunion. I overheard people talking about it! I cooked some sliced almonds with the ramen noodles and added 1 packet of oriental seasoning from the ramen noodles in enough dressing for 4 batches. For 3 bowls of salad, I used 4 pounds of pre-cute romain, 4 packages ramen, 2 broccoli crowns, and just multiplied everything else by 4. I don't think you will be disappointed by this recipe, but with some small changes.

German Sweet Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
This cake is absolutely amazing! I cut the butter down to 3/4 cup and sugar down to 1 1/2 cups on the cake and then 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar on the frosting. It was still sweet and wonderful. Make sure to use room temperature eggs for the frosting and it may also take longer than 12 minutes for the frosting to thicken. I also toasted the pecans and coconut. If you wait until everything is cooled off completely, you will have an easier time frosting the cake. My cake was perfect at exactly 30 minutes. I think it just all depends on the altitude you are cooking at. I can't wait for another birthday to make this again.

Dutch Cream Waffles

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Wow! These are the most amazing waffles! They do take some time and the recipe only makes about 3, but what a treat. I used a little real maple syrup and then sliced some bananas and added a little canned whipped cream on top. Delicious! I can't wait to make them again.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
This rice was good, but to me, it needed more flavor. I am going to have to experiment with it to get it right. First of all, putting this in a rice cooker was a disaster. The bottom layer burned. When I did it again stovetop, it turned out just fine. I just had to watch carefully for all the water to be absorbed, because it didn't take the full amount of time, and I would have had more burned rice. It was wonderful with Burrito Pie from this site for Cinco De Mayo, but I won't make it again as is. For me, it just needs some more flavor.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
This is an absolutely incredible dessert, and was the highlight of our Cinco De Mayo festivities, but I do have to rate it as it is written. The butter (I think way too much) was just puddled on top at the end, so I have decided next time I will try to just brush on the butter and then sprinkle cinnamon/sugar on. It's already too much sugar for me on top, so I will cut down on that next time. Also, I agree with others that the bottom crescent dough should just be put in the pan and then pushed out to the edges, but for the top, I rolled with a rolling pin and then rolled it very loosley and put on top and unrolled. It worked very well. I used 1 package fat free and 1 package reduced fat cream cheese, as well as 3/4 cup sugar instead of the full cup. This did not tase like it was lacking at all. The honey, in my opinon, is not necessary, but I did think some fresh strawberries or raspberries would have tasted wonderful. Try this recipe! Your taste buds will be delighted!

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I have no idea what happened, but this was tough and didn't taste very good to me on fajitas. I didn't have a chance to let it marinate for as long as the recipe calls for, so maybe 3 stars isn't fair, or it could have been the meat. I don't know that I will be making this again.

Cheesy Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Five stars for me gaining 5 pounds just from eating this! I served this with a prime rib dinner for Christmas and didn't change a thing. I just kept watching the yummy ingredients going into it, and thought there is no way this could not taste good. I hope to try again and make it with healthier options, but what a treat! I used fresh spinach. It looked like so much when I was chopping it, but as soon as it goes in the pan and heats up, it shrinks a ton! Wow, amazing recipe!

Horseradish Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I really liked this. I served it with Restaurant Style Prime Rib from this website. I added some fresh parsley, and it went over very well. I couldn't really taste the vinegar as others have mentioned, and I used prepared horseradish that had vinegar. I will definitely use this recipe again!

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I have to write this review before I go to bed, and trust me, I am exhausted from Christmas dinner! My guests were saying they have never had prime rib this good, not even at a restaurant. I couldn't believe I had done it. Everyone was happy because I waited until the temp was about 140 on a 9 pound roast. I let it sit for an hour and it was still warm, but the middle was medium rare and the outside was a perfect medium to medium well. I made the full recipe of flour and only had a little extra. I didn't have celery seed so I put in a little less salt and then put in 1/2 tsp of celery salt instead. You have got to try this!

Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I really can't think of anything I could change about this recipe, although I did have to cook it for much more than an hour, maybe an hour and a half. I used day old bakery rolls and it was just wonderful! I normally do not like sharp cheese and will not eat it, but in this casserole, I think it must give some flavor without tasting odd. It was great!

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I was nervous to make this because I hadn't tried it before and I was throwing a baby shower, but boy am I glad I did! I put it on croissants and I am still eating the leftovers. I liked it because the onion wasn't overwhelming to the overall taste. The only thing I did differently was add a little extra mayo because it seemed a little dry. Wonderful!

Aunt Peg's Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
Wow! This is amazing. I had to take a picture of it because it was so amazing. I cooked it stovetop and put the cheese in at the end like others suggested. I also added a little sour cream on top. I'm definitely freezing zucchini so we can have this in the winter. My sister came from Texas to visit and just LOVED it! Thank you for the great recipe.

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
I really like this recipe, mostly because it is a little bland and not so sweet. I feel like I am getting my milk and fruit in one shot and avoiding lots of extra sugar. It goes so well with toast or a bagle in the morning.

Southern Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
I thought this recipe was amazing with some changes. The first time I made it, I made it as written and it was incredibly sweet. I completely cut out the white sugar and cut the butter in half. I topped it with half a package of ritz crackers crushed. It was easier than making the topping and not so fattening. I got great feedback when I made it this way. It was the dish of the evening. I will be making it like this from now on.

Blueberry Muffins II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
These muffins are really incredible. I made 6 big muffins and this batch fit perfectly in the pan. I sprayed it with cooking spray. I think they needed to cook about 5 minutes longer because of thier size. I actually liked them because they weren't so sweet. My husband doesn't like really sweet stuff and he really liked these. I only sprinkled a tiny bit of sugar on top. I can't imagine having all that extra sugar, but then again, I liked the little tart taste from the fresh blueberries.

This is such a great recipe. I took it to a dinner party and it disappeared. It's amazing how good this twist to spinach dip is.

I get so frustrated on Thanksgiving and holidays when my potatoes are cold and there is no good way to warm them up. These are incredible! I used regular everything but next time I will try with all lower fat. I think they will be great!!!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2006
I consider myself a chicken tikka masala expert because I get it at every indian resaurant and this recipe was amazing. If it's too spicy, take out the seeds in the jalepeno. I would recommend not adding any salt to the sauce. The chicken has plenty.

Chicken Supreme IV

Reviewed: May 17, 2005
I thought that the breading was really great, but the dish was so soggy when it came out. I wish I could find something like this, just with not so much liquid. It tasted pretty good besides being soggy.
