Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
Very simple. Very good! I made my own flavor variation - almond coconut - and it was very good. I took another reviewer's advice and formed the logs using a sheet of wax paper. Super simple and no mess!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2014
Just tried this tonight and it was delicious. Moist, very flavorful. I did double the spices to coat 6 chicken breasts and I did add 1/3 c chicken broth when I added the lime juice based on zadimom's review. Company worthy!

This was very good and nice that it had no MSG. I was looking for it because I wanted to make Chex Mix and didn't the right salt. Tasted great!

Original Chex® Party Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Of course this stuff is a classic. It's really good, but my husband joked about needing a spoon and some milk because the Chex is so overwhelming. Next time I made it I used 3 c LESS Chex and increased the pretzels and bagel chips (which I subbed Ritz cracker chips for because I live overseas and the commissary doesn't carry bagel chips). Then it was perfect!

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
I really, really like this. I give it a 4 star rating instead of a 5 simply because my family of 6 doesn't LOVE it. They like it and will eat it, but it's not "divine." I use frozen blueberries and cook it about 5-10 minutes less. I do like it swimming in a bowl with some milk. Feels very warm and comforting.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
I did make my brownies from scratch. I also made my whipped cream for the second layer, but I did get lazy and use Cool Whip for the Cool Whip layer. I think it was delicious like that, but next time I think I will make my own whipped cream for the Cool Whip layer as well. It's just so much better than way! This desert is amazing!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
Absolutely delicious. I was looking at several recipes on this site and decided on this one because of the amount of bananas and sour cream. I followed Naples suggestions and I was NOT disappointed! This bread is divine! In fact, the family loved it so much I'm baking a second loaf this afternoon!

BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
I made these almost exactly as stated, with a few minor changes because it's what I had on hand. I added 1/2 lb ground turkey because I only had 1 lb ground beef. I also subbed half and half for the evap and old-fashioned oats for quick cooking. Otherwise, I cooked these exactly as stated. They were fabulous! Not one meatball was left after the party was over and I will be making these over and over. I loved making my own sauce as well. Made it extra special!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
Excellent. A hit at the New Year's Eve Party. The filling made more than 12 mushrooms and that was wonderful. As per other reviewer's suggestions, I dipped the mushroom caps in butter before baking.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
Just made these with my 4 and 6 year old. They are absolutely fabulous! We separated the dough in half - colored half green and half red (used an entire small bottle of food coloring for each half which gave them GREAT color). We then rolled them in white crystal sprinkles and they look pretty! They will be a great addition to our holiday dessert table!

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
We really enjoyed this at Thanksgiving this year. I cut the sugar down to 1 cup as other reviewers suggested. I think I would up it to 1 1/2 cups though, just for a little extra sugar. It is definitely easy to have in the freezer and pull out to defrost for a bit before adding the Sprite, or whatever you decide to use. I froze mine in 4 quart size bags so that I could have smaller batches if needed.

Baked Pineapple II

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2013
This was so yummy! I made it as is except for the addition of 1/4 c coconut. I agree with another reviewer that the butter could be reduced to 1/3, maybe even 1/4 c in this recipe. It was well liked at a Thanksgiving potluck I took it to. I will make this again!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
This was absolutely delicious! I roasted the butternut squash in the oven at 375 for 45 minutes because I wasn't sure how to peel a squash. This was my first attempt at this. I also only added 1 block of reduced fat cream cheese. I was fully prepared to add the second, but the consistency was what I was looking for after only 1, so figured I'd skip the calories. It was amazing, amazing, amazing! All of my children (4, 6, 9, 11) ate a whole bowl too! That was what sold me!!! Make this…you will NOT be disappointed!!!
