I'm a single man, My wife of 15 1/2 years just left me a year ago. I have been cooking for about 30 years. I like to do all kinds of cooking. I enjoy baking, steaming, frying, casseroles, grilling outside or inside, making vegetables either in steam or put together with other things. I don't know, I just like to cook. I have about 30 different books on cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Anything except eggplant.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I especially like to make a large thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. With all the trimmings. I make a special stuffing that I learned from my mother. It's great, but you have to like the things that I like to appreciate it. Its got rice and bread and butter. Celery and eggs and thyme. Garlic powder and onions and green pepper. Mushrooms if you like them, and canned milk. I think that's about all. Anyway I really enjoy it especially with mashed potatoes and turkey. And of course lots of gravy.
My cooking triumphs
I've made a lot of things over the years. I think that my best was when I saved my wife's steaks that she had burned real bad. I just cut the burned part off with an electric knife and we had a beautiful meal. But my thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are my crowning achievement.
My cooking tragedies
I've made some tasteless dinners over the years, we never had a lot of money and sometimes you try to stretch things a little to far. But if you just spice it up with some pepper and things like that it isn't bad.
