About this Cook
I am an experienced cook. Have been cooking for 35 years for myself and my family.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican and Italian food. Still trying to perfect the homemade pizza.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents are Dutch (from The Netherlands) immigrants. Dutch food is very simplistic. Not complicated. It has good combinations of ingredients. Dutch cookies are very tasty.
My cooking triumphs
Best way to a man's heart is having the house smell good (ie. Italian or mexican, fried chicken, apple crisp, or fresh baked bread with roasted garlic butter.) when he gets home from work. ; )
My cooking tragedies
Not too many.

Chicken Marsala
I made this for my family and it was just okay. I should have bought the sweet fine marsala. I had bought the dry version. I enjoy colorful dishes and this was too monochromal. Ill try the Florentine version next time with sweet marsala.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I
Made this today. Added one beef bouillion cube, a bay leaf, garlic and onion powder and ten peppercorns in addition to the flavor packet. Otherwise followed the recipe. The family loved it. Will have leftovers tomorrow night!

Murgh Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)
This was amazing! Made it per the recipe other than I used fenugreek seeds ground up. Husband and teenage boys loved it served with naan. Ive made it several times. Enjoy!
