Carrots in Dill Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
This is very good. I eliminated the sugar completely as carrots are sweet enough, in my opinion. I served this with lamb braised in tomato, served over egg noodles, and they were excellent together. I was specifically looking for a non-sweet carrot recipe and this fits the bill. Thanks.

These are the best salmon patties I have ever had. My husband loves them.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2006
This is awesome! I followed an earlier reviewer's suggestion and used Herbs de Provence for the herb mixture and doubled the butter at the end. What a great way to fix lamb chops. It is easy enough for a weeknight and gourmet enough for guests. A real winner. Thanks, PGray.

Baked Lamb Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
I don't understand the rave reviews. These chops did not crisp. I upped the temperature and shortened the cooking time as one reviewer suggested, but they were not crisp - simply overcooked. I will not make this again.

Summerly Squash

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
Since my father-in-law considers tomatoes and zucchini the food of the gods, I had to try this one. I used the receipe as is, to serve six; there were five for dinner and not one spoonful was left. It has now been saved to my recipe box. Thanks, Squeakychu!

Sunny's Creamy Chicken Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
I used cream of chicken and mushroom and added a small can of drained mushrooms. This is quick, easy and delicious. I agree with the reviewers that rice is the perfect match for the gravy.

Santa Fe Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
With a few tweaks, this is 5-stars. I used Texmati rice, increased to 1-cup, with 2 cups water; increased black beans to 1-cup. Made dressing using 1/4 cup oil; 1/4 cup white wine vinegar; jalapeno as called for plus 1/2 tsp cumin and salt to taste. As another reviewer suggested, I made the dressing and poured it over the black beans while I prepared the rice. Flavor was great and this amount of dressing was perfect. I did not use cheese or avocado. Served last night with Chile Verde and flour tortillas and it was great. Today for lunch, I flaked a leftover salmon filet into the salad while it returned to room temp. Excellent!

Pork Chops Capri

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
While this had really good flavor, the sauce was way too thin. I will try it next time using tomato sauce instead of juice.

Smothered Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2004
This was ok but nothing special. I used some of the earlier suggestions, such as using white wine instead of water, salt & peppering the chops before browning and throwing in a can on sliced mushrooms. Still pretty boring.

Pork Chops in White Wine

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2004
I used the "house white" at my house, which is Pinot Grigio, rather than cooking wine which I never have on hand. This was the most bland and uninteresting pork chop receipe I've ever made. We won't be having it again.

This is so easy and a great change of pace from my usual pork chop recipes on a week night. My husband gave it two thumbs up!!

This is a nice spicy change of pace for fried pork chops. We love them at my house.

Sicilian Veal Cutlets

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2004
I used some of the hints of previous reviewers (dried thyme in flour for dredging, and adding mushrooms); but I used turkey cutlets instead of veal. No one at my house was any the wiser!! And it's much cheaper.
