Chef John's Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
I followed the recipe other then I added a full teaspoon of old bay, I followed all the steps but I still had problems with mine sticking together. They had a good taste, they just fell apart. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

Three-Cheese Pasta Skillet

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2012
This was OK for us. We found it a bit bland. I did use Cheddar Cheese soup instead of mushroom and cheddar cheese instead of the two cheese blend. I also added 1/4 tsp of pepper. My boys liked it better then we did.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I didn't add the lemon or the veggies. I also more butter and old bay and my family really enjoyed this with the changes. I also used haddock loins instead of tilapia which took a bit longer to cook.

Simon and Garfunkel Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
We liked this but next time I would cut way back on all the spices other then the onion (I used onion powder instead of onion salt as I didn't have any). I also would not add any water next time. I think I would go with the other reviewer that only used a teaspoon of each spice.

Cindy's Beef Tips

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
This was good with a few changes. The gravy was a bit bland but I added some boullion and a lot of pepper and we enjoyed it. I followed the recipe as written other then that but didn't have to thicken up the gravy as it thicken just fine with out the cornstarch and water. It did seem like it was going to be a lot of extra gravy but I took the lid off the pan the last hour and it was perfect. We all enjoyed this.

Hearty Hash Brown Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
This was OK for us. I used chicken stock instead of water and bouillon and I didn't have bacon or ham. I also only added 2 cups of milk as it seemed a bit thin. I only used two cans of cream of chicken soup. I wasn't crazy about the taste of the cream of chicken soup in this.

This was just OK for us. I followed the recipe as written except I didn't add any of the water and only 2 cups of milk. I also added celery seed, pepper and cheddar cheese to give it some flavor.

Italian Sausage and Peppers with Penne

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
I didn't user the oil just cooked my sausage, peppers and onion together. I also used a jar and a half of Ragu (I didn't have Prego) as we thought it needed more sauce. I added moz cheese, cheddar and parm cheese. We all enjoyed this.

Beef and Noodles in Crockpot

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
I made this is on the stove instead of the crockpot but followed the recipe exactly as written. This was really good and easy to make. Hubby had it over noodles and I had it over rice. Next time I would double the soups for more gravy.

Chicken in a Pot

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
This got mixed reviews at our house. I didn't think it was too bad but hubby did not like it. I followed the recipe as written other then I didn't add the bread crumbs to the chicken. I do agree with the others that it doesn't make enough sauce

Solomon Grundy

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
This was good and so easyto make. I doubled the recipe as I wanted some for lunches for the week. I didn't double the water and I added another can of soup. We enjoyed this. My husband thought it needed more seasonings.

Mexican Style Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This was good and easy to make. I added all the ingredients to the pan after I was done cooking the meat except the water and jalapeno's. I did add a but more salsa since I didn't add the jalapenos. I mixed everything together. It wasn't pretty but it was good.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This was very good and easy to make. I must admit I was a bit surprised. I made as directed. I followed the cooking instructions except that my cake was done in 20 minutes. This cake was so moist warm and cold. We all loved it.

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
I only had a pound of ground beef so used that and only had about a half a jar of salsa so used that all too. We all really enjoyed this. I bought the Scoops and placed the filling in each scoop and topped with cheddar and heated in the oven to melt the cheese. We all loved them.

Easy Leftover Thanksgiving Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This was good and easy to make. I changed it up a bit because of what I had on hand. I didn't have carrots so I used peas. I didn't have potatoes so I used cream of potato soup. I also had 1/2 cup of broth so used it all. I also used biscuits instead of making my own. I had a pound of chipped deli turkey so used that (didn't measure how much- used the whole pound). I added about 1/2 tsp of pepper and 1/4 tsp of salt. We all enjoyed this but next time I would maybe add another can of soup or more broth as I would have liked more "gravy".

Talerine

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
This was OK for us. I used petite diced tomatoes instead of stewed. I thought 1 tablespoon of salt seemed like way too much so I only used 1 teaspoon and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. We thought it was more then enough of each. I used a 13 ounce box of dreamfield pasta. I added two cups of water and two cups of beef broth and I didn't drain it. We all ate it but it isn't something I would make again.

One Pot Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
This was OK for us. As written we thought this was not enough tuna, soup mix, seasoning or cheese. I added another can of tuna, 1 tsp of onion powder and 1/2 tsp of pepper. I also added about another cup of cheese. With the changes it was much better but it still seemed like it was missing something.
