Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2014
I actually combined a little bit of the two most popular artichoke spinach dip recipes on this site. But most of it came from this one, all I substituted was alfredo sauce for mayo, and i cut out the romano cheese simply because I didn't have it. I also I put a lot more spinach, probably 3 times as much. It tasted great!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2014
I made it exactly as written, and also added some breadcrumbs to the mixture. I didn't broil, just baked. My family loved it, though I didn't, but I think it's just because I'm not a fan of parmesan.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2014
Probably shouldn't review this based on the couple adjustments I made, but I'm gonna do it anyways! I didn't have lemon pepper or dill weed so I didn't use any. Instead I added wine, and some honey mustard to the sauce (which i did double). It tasted great and it's super easy. Also instead of using chicken breasts I used chicken tender sized pieces which I seared on both sides with seasoning first, and then added to the boiling sauce to finish the dish in one pot.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
The recipe by itself is WAY too buttery. You can cut butter in half, and it would probably taste ok. I cut the butter and also: - added heavy cream (can also use half and half) - lemon juice - parsley flakes - wine - honey mustard After these adjustments the recipe is 5 stars.

Brazilian Lemonade

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
Following the recipe as is, I thought it was "ok". I think perhaps most people are more used to the bitter aftertaste this drink leaves. But other than that, it's pretty healthy for you and tastes decent. I would probably add more sugar next time.

Mango Lassi II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
Ok so this recipe tastes just like melted yogurt if you put that much plain yogurt. I cut it by half atleast, and added an equal amount of milk. The ice is crucial, if it's not cold, it's not that great. After these changes it tasted really good.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
I don't even like chocolate cake and I liked this. Very rich, so next time I would try substituting more healthy ingredients into it but otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and it's great!!!

Pretty standard pasta dish. I added zucchini and mushrooms to the sauce mixture which gave it a nice taste. Easy to make!

Loved this recipe. I only omitted the veggie layer, and added some corn in with the olives. It tasted perfect!

Guacamole

Followed everything, except adding cayenne pepper since I didn't have any. Also I used lemon juice instead of juice from a lime. Tasted great!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: May 21, 2014
This recipe was not bad, but it's probably not my most favorite soup. I added everything that was already stated except the marjoram and cayenne pepper simply because I didn't have it. I used just regular pepper instead. I also didn't use cream cheese and instead using corn starch to thicken the soup. I also used a mixture of papaya and squash instead of just squash because I was short. I also added just a bit of heavy cream. Overall the soup wasn't bad!

So I've tried this recipe twice now, in two very different ways and either way hasn't turned out amazing.

Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 21, 2014
This was an awesome recipes. I LOVE mushrooms so I was so excited to try it. Like most reviewers, I halfed almost everything but still had enough stuffing for 3 times as many mushrooms. I used probably half a stick of butter. A quarter for drizzling on too of the mushrooms, and a quarter in the chicken stuffing mixture. I also used real crab, from a can. And I poured dry wine into the bottom of the oven pan with the butter. Baked for about 16 minutes. It tasted wonderful!

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2014
Perfect recipe! Made it for the whole family and they loved it. The only adjustments I would make is cutting the bread/pecan recipe by half ATLEAST. Probably a 1/3 of the amount would be fine. I had lots of leftover mix. Also I used honey mustard instead of dijon mustard because that's what I had on hand. As for baking, 10 mintures per inch of salmon is a good starter. I baked it for about 15 minutes and it was fine. I also made my own sauce to go with the dish that gave the sweet salmon a tinge of sourness. A simple mixture of heavy whipping cream, salt, lemon juice, fresh parsley, and a little bit of butter. This will definitely be my go to salmon recipe from now on!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
Ok so this is definitely a very easy recipe, followed it exactly besides doubing the sauce/mushrooms. Also added some heavy cream and chicken broth. For some reason I didn't find the dish very tasteful. I did skip out on the sherry entirely because I didn't have any, which might have been the difference. I will try again!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
Perhaps I just did it wrong but I couldn't get the icing to work with SO much sugar and such little milk and corn syrup. Ending up adding heavy cream, a dash of salt, and making it that way. Turned out fine, not very glossy, but after drying it looked just as cute as I would've wanted.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
These cookies actually turned out really good. Followed the suggestions of other users and added a bit more flour and sugar and vanilla extract. Only thing I would say is that I made my cookies about 3 inches across (heart shaped) and 1/3 inch thick, and it was in the oven for about 7-8 minutes and it wasn't fully cooked, no browning. I'd probably do 10-12 next time. Otherwise, great recipe! And the dough is really easy to work with, which is awesome.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
Used white chocolate and used hershey chocolate for brown stripes. Everyone LOVED it. It's super easy to make but be sure to work fast, because the chocolate thickens super quickly after it melts.
