Copycat Panera® Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
This recipe was delishhh! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because I did modify it a bit. The only veggies I added were a whole onion (recipe calls for a half) and added 2 cups of broccoli. I just do not particularly like carrots or celerey. Also, I only added 2 cups of cheese as that is all I had on hand (note 1 bag of shredded cheese = 2 cups). Overall FANTASTIC recipe! I cannot wait to make it for family and friends now! Leftovers were good too!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2013
So I can't give my own opinion for this recipe but speaking for my boyfriend (whom I made it for and he is an excellent cook) said it was absolutely delicious and was begging me to make it again! While making it, it seemed as though the porportions were right. I followed the recipe exactly and made no alterations.

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2013
The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is it was a very good BASIC recipe but alterations definitely needed to me made. 1. I would recommend using more than 1.5 lbs of meat... for this to make 16 meatballs, they would have to be very small... I made a total of 11 (cooked on low for 8.5 hours and perfect) 2. Added more spices to the sauce. I read that it was very bland so I chopped 1/4 of an onion and added it to the sauce. Also added some fresh baisil, garlic powder, salt and pepper (basically whatever I had in my spice cabinet) 3. Precooked the meatballs like other reviews said... 350 for 15 minutes... no grease in the sauce 4. I wanted to make a little more sauce to freeze so used 28oz of puree.. worked well 5. Followed other reviews and used 3/4 cup of breadcrumbs... 1 1/4 would be WAYYY too much Again, this is a great basic recipe for first time meatball cookers like myself. I will definitely be using this as a "base" and continue making my own alterations.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
This recipe wasn't the best I've ever made. I'm a pretty plain eater and the steak had almost no flavor. I did cut the recipe in half because I wouldn't eat as much as the recipe made. Threw in an extra pepper because I love peppers and put in a whole can of diced tomatoes (instead of a half because the recipe was cut in half). It was quite watery (probably because I added more ingredients) but I think it would have been very watery instead. Not sure I would try this again.

Spicy Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
This is the best chili recipe I've ever tried! If you don't like things really spicy I would recommend not adding as much cayenne and chili powder but I thought it was perfect! Makes a lot so plenty for friends and family! I do like peppers so to customize it to my own taste I added one more pepper and a little less onion but that's just my preference. Also, I used 24 ounces of sauce - I'm not sure how all the spices could even be stirred in with just 8oz of sauce. A few of my friends tried this recipe and I gave them a heads up on this. They agreed and used more sauce and said it was perfect!
