Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Ok, DON"T BELIEVE THE TITLE. I just made it according to the prescribed directions. I have found this too sweet and not impressed by its overall quality. The egggnog is not bad, but it's not great either. I haven't thrown it away but I will go back to the other recipe i used last year called, Eggnog Blend, by Sal. This recipe is easier and definately better tasting and quality.

Basil Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
I used a tablespoon of crused garlic, and a splash of malasses to increase the sugar content. I also substituted cream for 2% milk and a couple of pinches of flour to thicken the soup. Lastly, i added diced muhrooms. Initally the soup was bland and taste like pizza sauce, but with a bit of monkeying around, it did become pretty decent. The original recipe is only a starting point. Make sure to take a lot of taste tests along the way.

Delicate Lemon Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
I made a few changes in that I used lemon juice and grated lemon peel in place of lemon extract, and use a 7-up in place of lemon-lime soda, and I used no shortening, just butter. My family loved it! Lastly, since there was so much batter, I used two bread loaf pans. It worked out great.

Eggnog Blend

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
First of all, I have never made Eggnog before, and was very uncertain if it I could do it. I added NO Booze and my family and friends loved it! I added some rice wine to it later and it was still great. The only negative about this recipe is the use of 11 eggs. Other than that I would highly recommmend this for anyone.

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Sorry guys but I was not impressed. I didn't think it was all that great, so I started over with a different recipe that uses butter instead of oil.

Italian Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I altered the recipe by using lemon chicken instead of beef, added potato, and used 1/2 the amount of beef bullion as well not using tomatoes and green beans. My wife loved the soup, and she HATES chicken. It is a very good soup and very easy to make and alter while being very forgiving. I want to do it again, and next time use clams instead of beef or chicken. I expect I will have again great results.
