Pat's Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Loved the texture of these dumplings! I am not a fan of the fluffy ones. I added a little garlic powder to the mixture ended up using more water than called for to hold the mixture together. My kids loved it!

Chicken Chimichangas with Green Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
These were excellent!! Made them for dinner tonight had this recipe in my recipe box for over two years and finally made it. I'm mad at myself for waiting so long! My kids devoured these and asked for seconds! The only sub I made was lemon juice for lime juice in the sauce but still delicious never the less!

Cajun Ponchartrain Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Very Very Very Good!! Made this tonight for dinner and it was oh so good! I could not find Madeira wine so I subbed a dry sherry for it and I also added some chopped shallots that I sauted with the mushrooms. I doubled the sauce so that I would have enough and added about 25 jumbo shrimp The sauce was thin but I didnt care it was still delicious. I served it over cajun seasoned baked tilapia. My six yr old had thirds and wanted fourths I had to stop him lol!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
My kids adore these cookies. I didnt have butter so I used margerine sticks and I let them and the eggs sit out all night to become room temp. They came out light and fluffy almost like tea cakes it lost a star becuase I taste the baking soda in it It could just be me though!!

Onion and Cheddar Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
This only gets 3 stars because my kids thought they were yummy and asked for seconds and because they were very fast to make. Otherwise they fell apart just like in other reviews and I tweaked the recipe I added bbq sauce instead of ketchup and I used more cheese than called for and I didn not add oregano. I will not be making these agian

Fresh Pear Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
This is pretty good even though I was almost finish with the batter and realized I had no vanilla extract!! And when I got to the frosting realized I had no milk had to use soy milk :/ Only complaint is this needs way more pear than what it calls for so next time I make it (and I def will) I'll use about 3 cups.

Kickin' Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
Good Lord the meatballs are good! I followed the recipe exactly the only thing I subbed was swiss cheese for the pepper jack because thats all I had on hand ,used only 1lb of beef and I baked them in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 min My 9 yr old said he can't take it they are so good!!! So with that said these are hands down the best meatballs ever.

Country Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
This is my first time making sausage gravy and mmm mmm this is good Im a big fan of this for breakfast and now that I"ve found this recipe I can enjoy it more often instead of at a restuarant!!! I didnt add the bell pepper because I was afraid to LOL and I didnt have any thyme but still an absolutely wonderful dish!! And I love the fact that I can control how thick I want the gravy to be. I also love the pepper flakes added for that extra kick I love a couple of splashes of Louisiana hot sauce on top. In all, a very great hearty breakfast!!

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
Very yummy Im eating a fresh batch as I type! I only gave four stars becuase I had to tweek it to fit my taste. I omited the mustard as others suggested and I had to add garlic and onion extra cheese and salt with out these it would be on the bland side.

Mimi's Slumgullion

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
I as well as my kids love this. I sub the vegetable oil for olive. The only other change I would make to this recipe is to add the pepper and onion in the last step They do tend to get mushy as others have posted.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
This is the best recipe I have tried from this site. My biggest critic (my 2 yr old) had seconds even my 11 month old daughter gobbled it up. I used half beef and half italian sausage like others suggested and I substituted the half and half for heavy whipping cream its all I had on hand and it turned out just wonderful. I also forgot to add in the garlic and it was still amazing. Wonderful wonderful recipe. Oh yeah it is time consuming but really is well worth it. Cant wait to make this for hubby when he returns from Iraq

Cream Cheese, Garlic, and Chive Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
This was absolutely delishous but I did tweek the recipe.Firtst, I cooked the bacon till it was almost done and sat it aside I substituted half the cream cheese with mozzarella. I seasoned the chicken with onion and garlic powder and seasoning salt. Then I sauted (sp) the chicken breast in olive oil instead of butter just till the outside meat was white. Then I baked for half the time it called for and broiled it the other half of the time to make the bacon crisp It was the best meal I ever cooked I've made it twice already and I cant get enough of it. My all time favorite recipe already.

Carol's King Ranch Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
I made 2 versions of the recipe I split the soup and made one with tortillas and one with tortilla chips. Hands down the tortilla chips won. My sons and I devoured it.I didnt add cream of chicken soup, beans, or bell peppers and it still came out perfect.I had to bake it about 45 min more than what recipe call for because after 20 min it still looked very soupy. Very good will make with tortilla chips. I give the tortilla recipe 3 stars
