"Vixxen the Cook"
About this Cook
I was raised around a family of cooks, my father was a proffessional Barbeque and smoker, owned a restaurant and smoked everything in the land! I was raised on wild game and can cook it all. I just love to prepare for others, it is the way I was raised to have hospitality by way of cookin.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican and Chinese dishes, stir fries, beautifully displayed dishes are my favorite. I love to make prime rib and no one does it better! Bread is something I can do well, I love to cater as I did in my own business several years and helped in the family restaurant.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Martha Washington Candy is my all time favorite sweet family tradition. My all time meat dish from my family is my killer pot roast. My mothers traditional white bread, and grandmas egg noodles and indian fry bread as well. All have meaning to me.
My cooking triumphs
My catering business where people would request my country favorites my name because they heard about them or had them at a gathering. I love to make people smile with my food.
My cooking tragedies
One of everything I have ever cooked. Likely what my ex husband used to refer to as "VOLCANO HEAT" Cooking. He used to have to be at work by 6:30,I got off at 5:00, I had to go buy the food, prepare the meat and get him to work by 6:30 (back in the poor days of buying food daily living on the tips) Yep Volcano heat can sure kill good groceries! :)

Monster Cookies VI
This is an excellent recipe but noticed that many stated they were hard. This is a special trick for ANY cookie which seems too hard. Place cookies in an airtight container. ADD a slice of bread or 2 and cover. Wait to see what happens over night. I would try just one slice first. The bread provides moisture to the cookie and makes them moist. I have had cookies so moist they fell apart so just try the one slice first.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'
I am RE-RATING THIS RECIPE!! This is truley the best banana bread recipe. I have tweaked t my way but the end result is awesome. I would like to share my tweaks; I make 3 loaves not 2. Here is my substitutions. I do use the 1 cup butter not marjarine. I still use 1/4C Mayonaise for extreme moisture. I do add however an additonal full cup of flour now. I add chunky applesauce 1 Cup 1 Tesp Cinnamon or allspice. No white sugar I always use 2 cups dark brown sugar. I also sometimes add chopped pecans about 1/2 cup and some occasions I mix in about 3/4 cup pf dired berry/cherry blend of dred fruit. What I love is that this s the best base recipe for doing your own thing it never goes wrong. Your moms recipe is indeen EBNB and I highly reccomend using this recipe. I just made 3 more loaves.

Martha Washington Candies
I have been looking for the exact recipe of Martha Washingtons since I was about 16, I have re-made them but no recipe was exactly alike until this one, Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I just wish I knew the history of how they got their name. I think they are the best candy for christmas and I now add white chocolate strewn over the top for a little elegance. Thank you again they are the best,
