Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
I made these for my boyfriend and he absolutely LOVES them. He ate 2 dozen of these huge cookies in 4 days!! They turn out nice and big and chewy and gooey. Oh yeah i made them with Fleishman's lactose-free margarine and President's Choice Decadent semi-sweet chocolate chips to make them dairy free because we are both lactose intolerant. They are wonderful and I know i will be bribed into making them again.

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
Absolutely the best. Everyone I have served this too has loved it. After we ate it with turkey on Thanksgiving, we threw the leftovers onto vanilla soy ice cream wich is now what I primarily make it for. It makes a perfect dessert, like pie with out the crust.

Salmon with Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2006
I am just learning to cook. This salmon was awesome! I didn't have onion powder so I used garlic powder. Increased the dill and added lemon afterwards. I might use less salt and butter next time. Will definatly be feeding this to my picky boyfriend!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
These were awesome and I even messed up on the butter in the recipe by only adding 1 tblsp instead of the 1/3 cup. They were moist and had great strong banana flavor. I made them in the little mini loaf shaped muffin pan and it made 8 HUGE puffy loaves. Hubby takes these for breakfast every morning. I may cut out the strusel topping from now on though to cut down on sugar content.

Dilly Spoon Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
I will make these again but with much less sugar. Maybe a tablespoon only. I added fresh garlic cheddar chunks to the batter. Also sprinkled them with parmesean, oregano, pepper and a tiny bit of garlic powder (hubby loved garlic). Maybe next time i will omit the dill and just use oregano. Thanks for the recipe!

Corn Bread Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
Excellent recipe and perfect size for 2 people. Although I tried tripling the recipe and it didnt cook right in a loaf pan as the outside was well cooked and inside was raw. Next time i will try in a shallow pan. Yummy. Oh and I reduced the sugar and have cooked it with either canola oil or shortening. Its good both ways.

Cherry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I found that even after blending the filling for 15 minutes with my stand mixer, there are still creamcheese lumps in it. So I am assuming I must have done something wrong. I did soften the cream cheese for 30 seconds in the microwave first... Also if you live in canada, the measurements are a little weird. The amount of CC you need for the recipe is a little less than a box of philly and if you buy eagle brand condensed milk its somewhere around a can and a half but i didnt have the patience to figure out the exact measure. I havent actually finished making the pie yet so i shouldnt even be reviewing but I thought I would add those thoughts before i forget.

Coconut Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
I used this recipe for a small cakke in the centre of my cupcake display at my wedding. I iced it with cream cheese icing and placed needle fleted birds in a nest on top. Although the cake took forever to bake despite the small size and it was VERY crusty on the outside, it was delicious and I recieved the highest praises from those that ate up the scraps as I cut the top even. I am now making it for my inlaws for their wedding aniversary as they requested it especially!

Homemade Vanilla

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
I started my home-made vanilla a year and a half ago in a bottle of vodka. It has since turned into 2 bottles under my kitchen sink. I love the little vanilla bean seeds in it when you make icing and whipped cream. Oh i also used about 25 beans sliced open. I got them from Ebay for a great price!

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
Gave this recipe out to be made for a community feast last weekend and have people asking me for the recipe. It was really good and went over well with the crowd. I had adjusted the recipe to make three batches of 36 servings.

Simple Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
Gave this recipe to someone to make for a community feast of 200 people. It tasted amazing and was so summery and full of veggies. After scaling the recipe, it called for 40 tomatos, which is what I bought, but the girl who made it said she only used half of them so I would only buy small good quality tomatoes for this recipe next time. I imagine it was also be delicious with feta cheese in it.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
I made 6 loaves of this bread for a community feast for 200 people last weekend, cut up into 72 pieces. There was non left over and I had so many compliments. It was beautifully dense and moist. I added cinnamon, nutmeg and some pumpkin pie spice as well as my home-made vanilla also from this website.
