Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
Very good. I marinaded pork chops and chicken breasts, separately, for about 30 minutes. Both turned out nicely. I would probably marinade chicken a bit longer, but it was delicious served over rice with a side of veggies.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
This recipe is wonderful. I've made it without the ground beef and as written. Both are excellent. I depend on my slow cooker for stews and soups andd this was no exception. I cooked the ground beef, drained it, and put everything in the Crock-pot. By dinner time, I just had to make some cornbread and the family was loving it! Just to add variety, I make elbow macaroni for chili mac and the kids always ask for more! Thanks for sharing a great recipe.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
This is a great recipe. It was a bit too sweet for us and my kids don't care for ground beef. I make the sauce with 1TBS of sugar and add meatballs. I never blend the ingredients; just chop them up and add everything to the crockpot. Delicious!

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
This is a great way to make fun colors without trying to find them in the store. I have a TIP for anyone interested. I used Quart Size Ziploc bags for the mixing so the kids could help and see the sugar change color. It was also easy for storage as I put all the bags in a plastic tub which we pull out for our fun baking projects. Thanks!

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I made the mistake of not reading all the reviews and I regret it. Personally, I don't think it's fair that one is allowed to rate a recipe with high stars if the reviewer has made SIGNIFICANT changes to the original recipe. Like some, I ended up with pebbles and nothing even close to pourable. I pressed it into the pan, but don't have high hopes for the end results. I'm sorry for such a low rating. I've usually loved every recipe I've tried, but this one really did not hold up as written.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
My husband is from Virginia and loves sausage gravy. I've never made it because I didn't feel confident to try it. I decided to give it a whirl with this one and he loves it! He went to work bragging to all his co-workers that I made him sausage gravy at 5AM before work. It was a huge hit and it's in my permanent recipe list now. Thanks!

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
These were very easy to make, but did not taste like any chicken flautas I've ever had in a restaurant. I did use more oil for softening the tortillas, but that was the only variation I tried. I think I will forego that step and deep fry them after assembly. I also will add fresh avocado and sour cream like the authentic mexican restaurant does to give it the final touches we enjoy. Thanks for the good start!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
Absolutely the best! I used a bag of seasoned bread crumbs, a can of vegetable broth and no liver. We had individual cornish hens so I baked the stuffing separately. Perfect!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
Very good. I decreased the sugar to 1/3 cup and added a can of cream corn. Served it with chili topped with jalapeno peppers and shredded cheese. Yummy.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
I made it again this year. I added 3/4 cups of sugar and didn't do the pecan topping (can't have nuts) and it was perfect! Thanks!

Apple Pecan Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
This will become our Thanksgiving tradition dressing. It was wonderful. I didn't have any apple juice so I put about four apples in my juice extractor, added a half cup of water and mixed it in. Absolutely delicious!
