Easiest Brownies Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
I, like others, made some alterations; I doubled the vanilla and added several hefty shakes of cinnamon - I always like cinnamon with chocolate. These were without a doubte the best brownies I have ever tasted! Definitely an addition to my cookbook!!!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I cooked these on parchment paper to absorb the juice, but they were still a little soggy. The stuffing was great and I used this recipe exactly but stuffed twice as many mushrooms. This is another keeper!

Chunky Applesauce

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Talk about quick and easy!! This is a recipe I will use over and over. I put it on the stove when we sat down to dinner and it was ready to serve (vanilla ice cream would have been good!) as we cleared the table. Thanks for sharing.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I did this in a crockpot and the only change I made was to add a few shots of Worchestershire sauce. My husband complimented me AT LEAST THREE TIMES on it! That's a record! This recipe is definitely a keeper. I did make gravy out of the sauce. I added soome chicken broth and cornstarch for the gravy.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
I served this to my visiting brother who used to get paid $5 to eat his vegetables. Now, at 46, he asked me not to tell his wife that he had TWO HELPINGS because she thinks he doesn't eat vegetables!! Thanks for sharing. It was a big hit.

This was very easy to fix and while it was baking, I could fix the sides. Thank you for sharing; our family will DEFINITELY enjoy this dish again!!

Baked Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
It was a little too sweet for us, but it was so easy!!!! I told my husband I doubt I'll ever BUY applesauce again. I served it with baked pork chops and acorn squash. The apples were so soft I'm sure if I had stirred them in the casserole they would have made sauce, but I left them as is. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
I gave it 5 stars but I should say that my personal opinion is that it needs nuts. Next time I will add walnuts or pecans. Texture is perfect; they are a little sweet, but I would think the nuts will help that. I followed the recipe exactly except for using semi sweeet mini chips instead of milk chocolate. These are delish!

Minute Tomato Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I made this without the tortillini because DH and I were 'a little hungry'. It was quite good and my hubby who does NOT like milk in his tomato soup said it was 'quite good', high praise for him. I will definitely make this again.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
This combines all my favorite ingredients. I added a healthy amount of cinnamon and they are delicious, warm anyway. Its too soon to tell if they are as good 'cold'. It is important that they stay on the cookie sheet after baking as recommended. They fall apart easily, fresh from the oven.

Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I think it definitely needs more peanuts. I was disappointed. With that addition, it would probably be at least 4 stars.

Balsamic Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I like these; I received compliments on them. Some recipes will 'hide' the flavor of the carrot. This is not one of those. In my opinion, the carrots need to cook longer to be more tender. If I'm going to eat a warm carrot I want it cooked; I think it was too crunchy just cooking it 10 minutes. I liked the combination of the vinegar and sugar, as did my guests. I would serve this again, but would be sure the guests liked carrots. Definitely not something one could sneak in on their kids!

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
I took the advice of others and added probably double the amount coffee flavored liquer flavoring. I did not measure chocolate chips because I never do, but is certainly seems like the recipe calls for too many chips. They are very good warm - VERY GOOD. After they cool, they seem to require a hot drink like coffee or tea to really taste wonderful. They are a soft cookie with no crunch so if you want crunch, keep looking!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
Wow. Easy and tasty. I added an apple, quartered, and half a green pepper as well as about a cup of chicken broth because my can of kraut didn't look very 'juicy'. Like another reviewer, I am not a saurkraut fan, but my husband is. HE LOVED IT and I will definitely make it again. For saurkraut, this is the best ever!!! Thanks for sharing.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
I agree with all the raves of previous posters. This is the first white bread recipe I've ever even THOUGHT about keeping - and I certainly will. I love th texture . . . stable enough to make a sandwich or spread something on it, but light and fluffy in the mouth. Thank you!!

Baked Chicken with Peaches

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
My only recommendation might be to pound out the chicken breasts so they cook more evenly. It was very tasty, made a nice presentation on the table and is one my husband said he would like to have again.
