Salmon in Oyster Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2013
This was so good and fast! My local whole foods doesn't sell my teriyaki sauce anymore so I had to make something similar. I used a Stevia in the Raw since I'm on low carb diet finished what was left in my oyster sauce bottle. I used less about 2/3 cup of water. I sauté the garlic and then sprinkled 2 packets of the stevia sugar in the garlic oil. I didn't have green onions and didn't thicken with corn starch for lack of time. I will do both next time. The sauté with garlic and sugar is definitely an important step in this recipe.

Janine's Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I made this with semi sweet chocolate chips and followed the changes submitted from the reviewers. I changed it by adding 1/2 c of white sugar, 1/2 c of brown sugar, (instead of all white sugar) 2 tsp of vanilla, 1 tsp of cinnamon and added 5 bananas and semisweet chocolate chips and then followed the rest of the recipe with the other ingredients. It came out moist inside and crusty on the outside. I made this in a bundt pan since I thought it would overflow in my bread pan. I put cooking spray and floured it since it can come out of the pan easier. I wanted to add a white frosting but didn't since I wanted to try how it tastes. Next time I will try a white frosting but this will be my recipe for banana bread.

Easy Paella

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
It's a great base to start with. I had leftover chicken breasts seasoned with trader joe's salute seasoning and leftover zucchini. I omitted the lemon zest and red pepper. I didn't use paprika since I didn't have any. I followed the recipe with the above modifications since I was in the mood for paella but didn't want too much work and steps. I did add a can of diced chillies with tomatoes and as per another reviewer added 2 packages of sazon with saffron in addition to what the recipe calls for. Excellent dish-my husband and son and especially I loved it.

I just made these cookies for my christmas cookies exchange. I had to think of another cookie to make since i want to keep it for myself and my family! It was so good and delicious! The only thing i did was add chopped fresh cranberries in addition to the dried cranberries. My kids and hubby loved these cookies!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
Pretty good cookie. I did add more brown sugar/lessen the white sugar and added an extra 1/4 tsp of baking soda to the 1tsp already added. It is cake-like - I do like it as well as the chewy kind too. I would like to find a recipe that is more chewy and fuller cookie like this one. I think the baking soda made it rise more. Overall a really good cookie and recipe.

Easiest BBQ Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
My husband really liked this although I copied the recipe from reviewer Kathy Kimball: I did everything except I added smashed garlic to it. I browned the chops in onion powder, garlic salt and pepper. I don't like mushrooms so I only have cream of chicken soup - it worked GREAT! I used 1/2 cup bbq (Sweet Baby Ray - I think) and 1/2 cup ketchup. I also only had the crock pot on 4 hours and just let them sit the last hour in the pot turned off. WE LOVED THESE PORK CHOPS.

Champagne Shrimp and Pasta

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
I made this the first time for an informal dinner party and it was a hit! The only thing I added extra was garlic-with the mushrooms as well to the champagne with the shallots. I omitted the tomatoes. It was great! It wasn't heavy at all and this is a definitely a keeper for informal dinner parties.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2006
This recipe was ok. My husband liked it though. It was good to try it since I had the ingredients and I needed to cook the chicken breast.

Cuban Ropa Vieja

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
I just made this last night and it was really good. It was missing some salt so I added some on top and also added a little soy sauce when I read the other reviews that it wasn't salty enough. I added the soy sauce with all of the other ingredients when I put everything in the crock pot. I really liked it and so did my husband. I made black beans and brown rice to go with it. It was really good!

Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
I just made these cookies and needed to use an extra bag of butterscotch chips so I made this recipe. I didn't have any butterflavored shortening and used the same amount of butter. I also added 2 eggs, 2 cups of Oatmeal 1/2 cup each of chocolate and butterscotch. Everybody loved the cookies. I may have to add this to our Christmas cookie list. Thanks for sharing.

Shrimp Pad Thai

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
I actually really liked it-if I was able to give it 3 1/2 stars, I would. I was craving pad thai that I had to make it. Instead of vinegar, I used rice wine vinegar. And I ate it with the hot chili sauce on the side. I also used chicken instead of shrimp since that's what I had. I actually like Thai Kitchen pad thai sauce better than this one but this one really satisfied my Pad Thai craving!

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2005
This was an excellent dish. I've always had trouble with pork chops since I never know how to make it-mine usually comes out dry. I followed the other reviewers comments - used italian style breadcrumbs instead- with the rest of the ingredients, and had leftover bacon grease and added a little butter to it(I realize the fat content must've been huge after I did this). I used thin cut pork chops and baked at 425 for 10 minutes and then under the broiler for 2 mins. Hubby and 3 1/2 year old loved it. It worked great with sweet potatoes and green beans. What a quick way to make dinner! This will be one of our usual items on the dinner menu.
