Salsa Cube Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
We liked this one and I will make it again. However, I didn't like the cummin, so will go with just the salsa next time. Curry might be an alternative if more spicy taste is needed. It's a good, quick dinner.

Granny's Cherokee Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
This was a good quick meal. I used Sargento's Mexican shredded cheese instead of cheese slices and it worked very well. Nice meal with salad.

Chow Mein Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2006
We liked this. I used 1 1/2 cups of rice and that seemed just right for the amount of ground beef. I used ideas from others and added ginger, garlic powder and water chestnuts. I think next time I will add mushrooms too. Will definitely make this again soon.

Basil Pesto Bread Rounds

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
We liked this one. I didn't have any baguette on hand, so I used ready to heat garlic bread (New York Texas Toast) and skipped the garlic cloves. I toasted the bread on both sides, then spread the pesto on top and put it back in the oven for a few minutes until the pesto was warm. I cut the pieces in half and they were just right for one serving. It was great. Next time I will use the suggested sun-dried tomato pesto. Great tasty and easy appetizer.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
We liked this hearty casserole and will make it again. Next time I think I will use 1 1/2 cans of soup and mix the soup and meat together, potatoes on the bottom and soup over that. I also sliced the onions and put them over the potatoes because we like the flavor of the onions that way. I covered the casserole with foil for the first hour and then melted the cheese on top. The potatoes were just right, not mushy, after one hour. Thanks for an easy dinner fix.

Ham and Swiss Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
This was quick and easy to put together. We try to cut back on eggs, so I omitted them (probably will try them next time). I put in 1 cup of chicken broth for moisture, since I didn't use the milk. Next time I will try the mushroom soup, because it was still rather bland and a little dry. I did add 1/2 pkg of peas and that was good. I'll make it again. Thanks for an easy, quick dinner dish.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2006
We really liked this new way to enjoy spaghetti squash. I did do some things differently. I microwaved the squash, both halves on a paper plate, skin side for 5 min. and open side covered with paper towel for 6 min. and it was done perfectly. Using suggestions from others, I sauted red pepper and onion together, added one can of Italian style tomatoes, undrained, and ripe olives. Tossed it all together and tried to save enough leftovers for next day lunch :o). It was really super, thanks James.

Kielbasa and Veggies

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2006
We loved this. I used someone's idea for the mushroom soup, adding only 1/2 cup of milk and it wasn't soupy at all. I had a package of frozen vegs with small new potatoes and a package of just broccoli and used both and it was really good. This will be a regular in our house. Thanks Cat for a great new idea for kielbasa.

Corn Fritters Canadian Style

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
I gave this four stars because they didn't come out as I expected. They were not done in the center and were thicker than I liked. Perhaps if I cut the flour next time and also "thin out" the batter in the skillet. The flavor was ok but the cakes were too thick. I used Pam in the skillet too.

Slow Cooker Chicken with Mushroom Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
This was good, with some changes by me and I took some ideas from other reviewers. I used the combination of mushroom soup and chicken soup and added red cooking wine instead of white wine. We like the flavor of the red wine and mushroom soup. I added the dry onion soup mix and a can of mushrooms. I used four large chicken breasts and layered the soup on the bottom, then two breasts, soup over those and two more breasts and soup over the top. I sprinkled some oregano on top. My only mistake was using the whole package of onion soup and it was a bit too salty, next time I will use half a package or perhaps just the dry onions alone. We loved the dish and I served noodles with it. Will make again.

French Onion Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2006
I'm always looking for ways to use ground beef and this is great. I did precook the meat but only partially in the microwave for about 4 minutes, then broke it up and drained it. I used ideas from other reviewers and added mushrooms, used instant rice, minced garlic. I didn't have the onion soup so used the mix and 2 cups of water. At the table we thought it a wee bit bland, so added some lite soy sauce and it was really good. I added some to the leftovers too and they were just as good. Will make this a keeper. Thanks for a great recipe.

Pork Chop Casserole III

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2006
This was a very good recipe. I did use a little less water and added a dash of red cooking wine to the soup. I also did what was suggested and added a layer of mushrooms with the onion and peppers. I also cooked it about 15 minutes longer just to have the rice a little more dry. It was quick, easy and delicious. I have leftover rice and will warm that up with chicken. Thanks for a great way to do pork chops.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
My husband loved this..I gave it 4 stars because I am not a kraut lover. However, I did take the tip about adding some brown sugar and Dijon mustard. I used a mild beer, Pauley Girl, and I think it could have been a little stronger. I also added onion. This is a good recipe and I will use it again because my guy really loved it.

This was just ok, nothing special but it was good anyway. I would probably make it again for just the two of us.

Cream of Chicken Breasts

This was very good. I added half cup of chicken broth over the chicken and added 1/2 soup can of red cooking wine to the soup for extra flavor, cutting the water.

Baked Yam and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
This was excellent at Christmas dinner with ham. I didn't change a thing and there was not a morsel left. Would make this again for any occasion. I made this again but added a ham steak with cloves between the potato layers. I put crushed pineapple on top and baked as usual. It was great with the added ham.

Easy Turkey Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
We really liked this. I did add more curry, 1 full tsp., and I also added red cooking wine to the mushroom soup and the flavor was great. I served it over rice but I think it might be very good over biscuts too. My husband said he could use more curry but it was enough for me :o). Will definitely make this dish again and with other leftover meats.

Easy Minute Steaks

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2005
This was great! I used the tip from "Radiating Mom" for mushroom soup, beef broth and dry onion mix. I served it over rice and there was not one crumb left. Would make this for a group anytime.
