About this Cook
80% of the time I look at cooking as a chore, but when that other 20% kicks in- watch out!! My mom was an excellent cook, German born and started cooking when she was 12. Everything from scratch, lots of butter and gravy. It's hard to live up to her legacy, but slowly I'm trying!
My favorite things to cook
Very unhealthy desserts and baked goods. I love seeing people's reaction when they bite into a decadent chocolate dessert!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sit down meals on the big holidays with mom's china. Mom cooking our favorite meal for our birthdays, I always asked for Beef Wellington.
My cooking triumphs
I mastered my mom's beef stew! I was tickled at how easy creme puffs were and make unbelievable brownies.
My cooking tragedies
Pan fried steak- it's either tough or raw or burned. =-(

Paul's Favorite Chicken
My 18 yr old loved this quick easy dinner and my 8 yr old wanted her chicken before I put the cheese on. We served it with rice and used almost twice as much chicken. I can see this easily making its way into the dinner rotation as quick, easy and budget friendly.

Peanut Butter Fudge IV
Sinfully yummy and easy! Melts in the mouth! It is a bit soft, but considering the ingredients- that is a given. If I want to firm it up next time I'll add a bit of chocolate.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops
Yea- an easy and tasty chop! I used cream of chicken soup and chicken broth instead of water and cream of mushroom soup. Then, when I scooped enough "gravy" out to pour on the chops- I dumped leftover rice into the rest and had a yummy side dish!
