Almond French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2006
I found my French Toast recipe, very good! I didn't have almonds on hand so I didn't use them. And, I didn't take the time to refrigerate them. They still turned out great! Good french toast flavor. Will definitly make again.

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
Perfect recipe for me. Hubby is a coffee drinker, and I'm a baker so I always have dye and sugar around. Who wants to spend the money on store bought colored sugar when you can do this.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
I love oatmeal cookies and these were really good. I left out the raisins and added walnuts instead. They came out very soft for me, the first batch broke up when I tried to remove them from the pan. I cooked the other batches longer than stated and that seemed to work for me. There's no doubt I'll make them again, maybe adding less butter so that they're not as soft? Very good!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: May 20, 2006
Very good recipe. Even my husband, who isn't a big fan of sweet potatoes, went for seconds. I read the comments before making and decided to go with black beans. I'm glad I did. The beans alone are something I would make again, for various mexican dishes. Much better than refried beans. I didn't add any water at all to the bean mixture. The brand I bought had a thicker liquid that didn't drain completely. What little was left in the can was all I thought it needed in the pot, even one cup of water would have made it too soupy. So, keep that in mind when cooking. Add a little bit of water at a time and see how it goes from there.

April's Chicken Fried Rice

Reviewed: May 16, 2006
I made this twice, and will probably make it again, but it didn't come out like a restuarant quality fried rice. It was too moist, both times, and bland. I used a lot more soy sauce than listed on the recipe.

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
Excellent recipe! I made this Christmas morning for my family, and parents. I'm glad I bought enough for seconds because everyone wanted them. It's easy enough to make often.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
I didn't make these into twists. I just layed the batter into a pan and baked it like a loaf of flat bread. It made a very tasty and light bread for our dinner. Everyone loved it.

Cinnamon Streusel Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
Very good, and the house smelled so nice while they were baking. I added cinnamon to the batter. My topping didn't turn out as expected, but that could very well be my fault. Will make again, very easy.

French Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
Easy recipe. Itmade a good french bread. The only thing is that I like my french bread to be less doughy. Two loaves the length of a cookie sheet was too thick for me. Next time I'll divide the dough into three or four skinnier loaves.

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
Very good! Being from New Orleans I wanted to find a really good gumbo recipe for a party I was throwing. People know their gumbo down here. This one was a big hit. I was asked to e-mail this recipe to most of them. Will make again.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
Great recipe! It's easy for a novice like me and adaptable. I've made it with sweet potatoes instead of pumpkin. I've added shredded coconut, walnuts and a cream cheese topping from another pumpkin bread recipe on here. We love it.

Hello Dolly Bars

Delicious! You can play around with the toppings to suit your tastes. I like dark chocolate, coconut, and almonds. Next time I make these, which will be soon since they're so easy, I'll include the white chocolate chips as well. Perfect for parties.

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
I'm glad I thought to look this up. It's much easier than I expected it to be. I had some of the sugar burn a bit, but that was my fault. I'll follow PabloJr's advice as well. This is going to be a family treat.

Strawberry Cake Cookies

I only used the cake mix and eggs out of the recipe, and they turned out fine for me. I sprinkled on some green sugar since I made these for Christmas, and everybody loved them. Will definitly make other flavors!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
I should have read the reviews first to know to add the extra flavoring. I figured with so many reviews I'd just try the recipe as is. It needs the vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg... I would even throw in some cloves. I prefer these kinds of breads to be on the spicy side. Not a bad recipe though. I added in some Walnuts because I had them laying around. It turned out well.

Daddy's Fried Corn and Onions

A very good recipe, though nothing special. I made it with fresh corn from the cob and real butter. It was a hit for Thanksgiving, and I will be making it again.

Pumpkin Cheese Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2004
Excellent recipe. I've had to make this three times in as many days based on so many requests that I got from people wanting to have more. I made it for a church group function and it was the hit of the party. I use whole spices and grind them up as needed. This proves to be more flavorful.
