Apple Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
My toddler and husband loved these! They're a great breakfast muffin. Next time I will decrease the amount of sugar by half (the banana and apple are quite enough). For ease, I also recommend using a 1/2 c. of unsweetened applesauce instead of peeling and shredding an apple (TOO MUCH WORK/MESS!!).

Taylor's Piroshki

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
I use 1/2 this recipe for my 3-person family. I use 1 1/2 Tbs of dried dill for an authentic fair-type taste. I also add a 1 1/2 oz cube of cheddar cheese before sealing and frying. My 2-year old and husband love these! They're a great make-ahead for a picnic (no messy sandwiches) and easy to reheat in the oven (425 for 10 minnutes or so)!

Chicken with Sausage and Dried Fruit

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
This one was just OK for me. My grown up palate was looking for something a little more complex. The dish seemed too sweet. My 18 month old daughter gobbled it right down though!

Creole Cornbread Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2006
One of my family's favorite new dishes for the holidays! I've made this for the last two years and everyone gobbles it down, no complaints. I usually add a little anduille or spicy italian sausage, apple and/or cheddar cheese for some zip. But I love the old-fashioned, from-scratch taste!!

Chinese Steamed Buns

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
Fabulous! I followed the recipe to a T and the flavor was just what I was hankering for. As someone else said, the rise time is kind of a pain, but I just put the dough in my closed microwave - NOT ON!! - which is the perfect temp for bread recipes and went about my business. I also left them alone a little longer for the last rise which gave me a lighter bun. I think the people ending up with lumpy buns are probably handling the dough too much and/or allowing water to touch them (drip on them) as they steam - not good. The only downside to this recipe...24 balls is WAAAY too many for this amount of dough. This recipe really only makes enough bread for 12 buns.
