The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2013
I was expecting a better flavor. Thank goodness I made Chef John's Mushroom Gravy to smother it with.

Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
These are really good. I thought I'd try to roll and cut the dumplings like another reviewer suggested, but the dough was too wet. Stick to the recipe, it's much easier and less mess.

Big disappointment. Think I'll stick with Jello No-bake from now on.

Fresh Apricot Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
I used 16 sliced fresh apricots in a deep dish piecrust. Used a teaspoon or more cinnamon instead of nutmeg. I topped it with a crumb topping. My 17 year old son said he didn't know that I could make such good pies. Getting ready to bake another one now.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
I think this is the tenderest pork roast I've ever made. I baked it in the oven for several hours at 350. My son loved it and asked where I got the sauce and said it tasted like teriyaki. I'm definitely saving this recipe.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
This was very good. I doubled the recipe using chicken and beef broth instead of water and bouillon granules, and celery salt and onion powder instead of onion and celery, otherwise my boys wouldn't eat it. Cheddar cheese and real bacon bits added, make it great!

Grandma's Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Thank goodness I had a container of chocolate frosting. I melted it in the microwave, poked holes in the cake and poured it on. Otherwise, I would've threw the cake away. I thought it would be similar to a "wacky cake" but it wasn't. It took around 40 minutes to bake.

I made the slow cooker taco soup recipe on this site and used this recipe for the taco seasoning. I used cayenne pepper powder instead of red pepper flakes and it was really good!

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
These cookies are really good, light and fluffy. I didn't have butterscotch chips so I substituted with 1 cup of crunchy peanut butter. I made 38 nice sized cookies using my ice cream scooper. My son loves them too.
