Peanut Butter Frosting

Good recipe. I used natural peanut butter (just blended peanuts) and cut the sugar to less than half.

Whole-Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Like the other reviewers said, cut down on the sugar. I used my standard baking mix of roughly 2/3 whole wheat and 1/3 oat flour (both fresh ground), turbinado sugar for the sugar and it turned out great.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
As others suggested, I used all butter, soaked the raisins and halved the baking soda. I also realized mid-recipe that I didn't have enough sugar, so I used 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup honey. As I expected the dough was a bit more wet than it should have been so I added about another half cup of flour (white whole wheat). They are really tasty.

Yummy. I upped the spices a bit but not much. Best after it's aged a few days.

Green Velvet Soup

Great basic recipe. Easy to prepare and turns out great. I did up the bay leaf and basil some and used some green onion in place of the regular onion.

Caroline's Chocolate Fudge Frosting

Good base recipe. Taking heed of what some of the other reviewers had said, I upped the chocolate by one ounce (using Ghirardelli bittersweet) and after I had mixed together the sugar and milk, I set aside about 1/2 cup. Didn't need to add that extra back in.

Vegan Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2004
Easy and wonderfully tasty. I did modify it somewhat as I like things spicy. I added two chopped jalapenos - one in the saute and one near the end (could stand one or two more). I upped the garlic and added another stalk of celery, too. Also, I served it with some fresh cilantro.
