Chocolate Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2007
I'm giving this four stars because of the problems I had. The taste and texture I would give 10 stars if I could. However, I'm made this three times and each and every time I can't get it out of the pan (no matter if I use butter and flour or parchment paper) without sticking and breaking up. Perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong. The other problem I ran into was the cooking time. The first time I made it, I kept it in for 70 minutes, let it cool only to find the inside only partially cooked. I ended up having to keep mine in at 325 for 1 hour and 35 minutes to get it to cook right. Other than that, the cake is unbelieveable in taste and extremely moist. I've never tasted a better chocolate pound cake.

Skillet Zucchini

What an incredible recipe. The only thing I changed was I added about 1 teaspoon teraki sauce. This will definately be one of my favorites.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
So - So, didn't care for this frosting. It didn't taste very chocolatey at all, didn't have good consistency for spreading (too thin), and just all around not the best frosting I've made. I will keep looking

Chocolate Wave Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
Very good recipe! Instead of making the wave, I made it marbled. Alternate droping the plain batter and the chocolate batter by the tablespoon full into the loaf pan. This makes a beautiful marbled effect.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2005
DEFINATE A+ Recipe. I did make some changes however, for the syrup, I added 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp almond extract. Also, I tossed 1/2 of the syrup in the apples before I put them in the pie crust. I poured the remaining syrup on the top and brushed the crust with the syrup to make it more even.

Great Recipe. Instead of the onion in the center, I use a little slice of dill pickle...yummy

Meringue Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2004
These candy mushrooms are awesome. I like to serve mine in a basket. I also dust mine with cinnamon instead of cocoa...gives it a nice taste. These do take a lot of time but are well worth it

Floating Island Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2004
Awesome punch...however, I did leave out the sugar mixture and only used 3/4 of the frozen lemonade and frozen orange juice...this was a big hit!!!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2004
Followed recipe to a "t" and the mixture was overly thick and unpourable. Couldn't even stir the nuts it was so thick. Had to press mixture into the pan. Texture was wrong, though flavor was good.
