My favorite things to cook
Asian or Mediterranean anything. (Favorites are sushi, stir-fry, and salads.) Love cooking with fresh, whole foods. No pasta or bread in this house but rice & quinoa instead. Anything with vegetables, fruits, or fish are my and my husband's favorite.
Love cooking & seasoning my dishes with coconut oil, fresh herbs, coarse sea salt, fresh ground pepper, and garlic.
Guilty pleasure is some pan-fried Spam on top of sushi rice!
My favorite family cooking traditions
All our traditions revolve around food, but I especially love helping my husband make his famous Mochi.
Every holiday is usually accompanied by a plethora of meats, vegetables, fruits, and endless dishes of both Asian & Italian cuisines. All the preparation by family that goes into gatherings is a wonderful time.
My cooking triumphs
When my husband and I had just gotten married, one afternoon we prepared a completely homemade dinner course consisting of wonton soup, spring rolls, cucumber salad, stir-fry and a platter of sushi. It was a joyous day for us and we repeated the courses for our families.
My cooking tragedies
Getting distracted by Netflix and allowing all of my precious heirloom vegetables to roast far past their prime and ending the night scraping little black chunks off my baking pan into the garbage. ALWAYS SET A TIMER AND SET IT LOUD.
