Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
This was a very easy dish to make. Only qualm was that sauce was too thin, could use a little corn starch to thicken it. I used sliced shicken thighs and served over rice, pretty good. Husband (who likes spicy) added sriracha on top for a kick.

These were pretty good. I added minced green onion for a more Asian flair and did not used the water chestnuts. Good with plum sauce.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
The cake turned out great, moist and tasty. Icing was nothing special at all, not very chocolatey, and too sugary. Hindsight, would have used fudge icing.

Red Pepper-Salmon Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2004
This was an excellent recipe. I skipped cilantro (not a fan) but it turned out great. Sauce should be doubled for 4 people though, this was just the right amount for 2 people. Tasty!

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Sooo good and sooo easy! Can't believe how simple and tasty this was. Didn't have a candy thermometer, just stirred until light brown, approx. 15 minutes at a boil. Great for holidays!

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
Really good. Added carrots and used leeks instead of onion. We didn't puree half, just mashed a bit with spoon. Easy to make and great taste, flavorful and creamy.

German Rouladen

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
This was ok, kinda disappointed with all of the 5 star ratings. Maybe more of a sentimental dish? Even tried user suggestions: horseradish mustard, I had with egg noodles, husband had baked potato. Too much hassle for mediocre turn out. Will not make again.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
This was my 1st attempt at meatloaf, my husband is a fan. He said this is the best he's ever had. It was pretty greasy w/ the cheese, but just poured out the excess after cooking. Good and rich with the cheese though. Oh, didn't have steak sauce, so just substituted with bbq sauce and a dash of worcestershire. Tasty!

Brunch Scones

Good and easy. Used blackberries so I doubled the fruit-just the right amount, and they are of perfect sweetness. Oh and used cream vs. whole milk.

This was really tasty, great flavors. My changes were just 2 large cloves pressed, aged sharp chedder, one piece of bacon per breast and some cushed red pepper flakes for spice. Really tasty and pretty easy to make w/ great presentation.

Nothing too exciting, pretty plain. Zucchini bread is my husbands favorite, and this didn't go fast at all. I've had better, no big whoop.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
I followed the recipe almost exactly and these were very floury and dense. Might try again with minimal handling, but I only kneaded say 10xs -oh well, still have some Bisquick as the old stand by. Even tried a second time, no big whoop. Revision: OK, so my husband made these the other day and they turned out great! Fluffy, tasty and quick. Maybe it is just me! :)
