Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Easy recipe but these cookies were somewhat bland. Needed a little more sugar. I made 2 batches, one with white sugar and one with brown sugar and the brown sugar came out much better. A more richer flavor. The white sugar cookie tasted like there was too much flour. Very bland tasting. Try brown sugar and this recipe would be a 5 star.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
Unfortunately I read the reviews AFTER I made the soup. You definitely have to add another 1 lb package of cheese. Cut the onion amount to half and be sure it is cooked until clear. I only cooked mine in butter until soft and it turned out a little too cruchy and 1 whole onion is too much. Too much crunch in a soup! Also, definitely use half and half instead of milk. We used 2% and it made it too watery. If you have to tweak a recipe too much, it doesn't warrant a 5 star rating. I was expecting something closer to Black Eyed Peas Broccoli Cheese Soup, but not even close. Too watery. If you have to tweak

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Love this recipe! I've made it 4 times already and everyone always raves about it. The 1st few times I followed the recipe exactly, the last two, I added 1 tablespoon of sour cream to add a little more of a smoother texture. I doubled the amount of mozzarella cheese it calls for. I also serve it with a side of sour cream and salsa. Gives it a little zing! Very simple and easy to make.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I absolutely LOVED this recipe. The sauce is what makes it fabulous. The flavor is so savory and delicious. I had four 1/2 inch thick pork chops and doubled the ingredients which worked out perfect. I only cooked 20 mins on one side, 15 on the other and a 5 min broil. The broil made a big difference. It carmelized the sauce giving it a nice flavor. I will definitely use this sauce on ribs, it is a perfect rib sauce recipe. Also BBQ chicken as well. Super easy and very tasty! The flavor will keep you wanting more!

Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Very delicious dish and so easy to make! I tweaked the recipe a bit for more flavor. I shredded my chicken instead of cubes. Boiled 4 chicken breasts in a pot of water and added chicken boullion cubes. Let the chicken boil at a medium simmer for 3 hours. The longer it boils the easier it shreds. Use A LOT of water so you can use it for boiling the spaghetti and for the rest of the recipe. 1 can cream of chicken, 1 can cream of mushroom. Added chopped celery and chopped broccoli and chopped red bell pepers. Instead of water I used the broth from the boiled chicken. Also used part of the chicken broth to cook the spaghetti (what a difference!) Mixed the soup mixture, added the veggies and the shredded chicken into one large pot to boil and them mixed throughly. Pour over pasta and mix. Added sharp chedder cheese (not too much because you don't want it to be overly cheesy. Last 10 mins add crushed ritz crackers or bread crumbs. So delicious and makes a lot!!! Great leftovers - even tastier the next day!!

Chex® Muddy Buddies®

Super duper easy, although I microwaved chocolate and peanut butter mixture a little longer until it rendered smooth. Be sure you use a big enough bowl! Made so much that I gave half of it to my neighbors and they ate them all up!

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I couldn't find any Neufchatel cheese, so I purchased chive and onion cream cheese instead and it worked fine. Don't use too much prosciutto, and use the recommended 3 spears to each prosciutto or else it will be toooo salty! I steamed my asparagus for a few minutes before placing in the oven ti soften it up a little bit. Everyone liked it but remember,3 spears to each slice of prosciutto!

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
Really easy to make and EVERYONE loves it! Made this for girls game night and everyone loved these little sandwiches. I did use hard salami instead of Genoa and it tasted better. No other changes, very simple and very delicious! To heat up the next day.. heat it up in a skillet to get the same flakey crust!

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This was really easy and delicious! Took a little time to prepare but it's worth it. I followed one of the reviewer's instructions by blanching the peppers in boiling water for 2-3 minutes then submerged in ice water before beginning. I added a little more seasoning and added it to taste. Covered with foil and baked for 1 hours. 10 mins prior to an hour, I added cheese on the top and cooked for the remaining time uncovered. It really turned out nice and moist! I omitted the water which was probably a good thing because the steam was enough water for the dish. I suggest for next time, adding chopped onions, minced garlic and some extra spices to make it even more mouthwatering! Will use this recipe again!

Old-Fashioned Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
Wow! This was really EASY to make and soooo delicious! I used Round Top Steak and added a little Dale's marinade on it before beating the flour in. I used a can of medium spicy Rotel diced tomatoes and the juice from it plus 1 cup of water. I used all ingredients except for lemon juice since I didn't have any on hand. Cooked for 1 1/2 hrs at 350 and it turned out perfect! Didn't even need a knife to cut it. Great comfort food! My boyfriend LOVED it!!!! Definitely one to keep.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
This is SERIOUSLY the best chicken recipe for a quick meal. Of course I changed it up a bit. Instead of breadcrumbs I used Pepperidge Farm herb seasoned stuffing mixed with shreaded parmesean cheese, this makes it VERY crispy and gives it a good flavor! I tenderized the chicken and seasoned with salt, garlic powder, a touch of ginger and pepper. Smoothered the chicken in mayo and then rolled it in the stuffing and cheese mix. Baked at 400 degrees for 30 minutes exact and came out PERFECT! Tender and juicy and just enough crisp on the outside. This is an awesome recipe you can tailor to your needs!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
This turned out delicious! 1/2 the recipe and tweaked a little of the measurements. You can cut down on the butter a lot. I added chopped artichokes to the mixture then topped it off with panko breadcrumbs. Tasted delicious! Broiling really makes the panko extra crispy with each bite. You can edit the recipe by using low fat mayo and cut down on the butter. I was too lazy and just used garlic powder, salt and ground pepper to spice it up. Turned out way too good. Served it with lemon orzo and it was a hit with my hubby! Will serve this again soon!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

VERY easy to make and SUPER moist! I added 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and cinnamon and also used 3 mashed bananas instead of chopped bananas. I added some chocolate chips as well. It turned out so delicious and moist. It's even good cold! Everyone asks for seconds and the recipe!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
Very easy to make and scrumptious! Took less than 5 minutes to combine all ingredients. Its very light and fluffy. You may need to cook a little longer than 45 minutes. The middle takes longer to cook. I kept it in for an hour and it came out perfect! Next time I'll add some jalapeno slices for a little kick.

Toasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Super easy and delicious! Used toast and skipped the mozzarella cheese and it still came out perfect! My oven doesn't have a broiler but baking was just as easy - 10 mins. Much better than frozen garlic bread and simple and quick to make.

Pecan Snack

Wow! Easy and absolutely delicious! I submitted a photo of the finished product and it was hard to stop picking at it during the cooking process! I only had half a pound of pecans but used all the same measurements and it came out perfectly coated and delicious! I will definintely give these out for Christmas. It's much better than the nut kiosk you see in the malls. It's so easy to make its absolutely effortless! A must recipe for the holidays!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
This recipe was pretty easy. It was good, but only if you love cream chese. They are best right out of the oven. I tried brushing butter on the mushrooms before putting them in the oven but it just made the mushroom wilt. I think you can make this stuff for just about any vegetable or even stuffed jalapenos.
