Janet's Rich Banana Bread

I made this exactly as directed except I used mini chocolate chips instead of nuts. I have to admit, I didn't care for the large chunks of bananas, if I made this again I would mash them. I checked on this after 50 minutes and it was already pretty dark on the outside but the inside was not done. It's almost burned on the outside, giving it a crunchy crust. I made two, one in a glass loaf pan and one in a metal pan and they both came out this way. The flavor is wonderful though and I hope that the family I baked the second loaf for doesn't mind having it a bit crispy on the outside and chunky on the inside.

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

I made this recipe according to the directions and it tasted heavily like dry milk. I tried many of the suggestions on how to doctor it up but it was still bad. The best variation I could find was mask the dry milk flavor with a large dash of cinnamon and brown sugar but even then I would still prefer Swiss Miss or something else. Next year I think I'll just buy the big container of Swiss Miss at Sam's Club and add the marshmallows, chocolate chips and peppermint to decorate it. It looks pretty though, I used pizza shaped bags I got at the Christmas Tree Shop and trimmed it down, added mini chocolate chips, marshmallows and crushed peppermints and closed it with a ribbon. Hopefully I put in enough peppermint candy to mask the dry milk flavor.

Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

I love this recipe. You can use so many different kinds of cake mix and different variations of add ins to make this one yours. I always get compliments on the devils food and chocolate chips though. It only takes a few minutes to mix up a batch for suprise company. I always buy at least 10 boxes of cake mix when it's on sale for $1 so I always have it on hand.

Mexican Shrimp Cocktail

This is a good recipe to start. If you want to make it like the Mexican resturants: leave out horseradish, ketsup and hot sauce, use white or yellow onion instead of red, and add cucumber and salt. I made it this way for a party and everyone loved it, it was gone so fast and people were in the kitchen asking if there was any more left.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

I made these rolls for Thanksgiving dinner. I followed the recipes exactly and they came out flat like biscuits. They weren't very tasty either. I was pretty embarassed because in my family I am known for making great breads and rolls. I don't know what I did wrong, I have made bread and rolls with other recipes at least 50 times and these were the worst ever. I noticed that all of the reviewers that rated this recipe highly stated that they changed the prep in some way, so I would say that this recipe, as stated, is not good. I'll go back to my original recipe for rolls.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

I have made this recipe several times with different variations of wheat and all purpouse flour and they always turn out great. Just as good as the ones I have tried in Mexico and several border town tortillarias. A word from the wise, tortilla making takes a few tries to get right so don't be discouraged if they don't come out just right the first time, try and try again!

Garlic Prime Rib

Wonderful prime rib recipe!! I have tried several different recipes for prime rib and like this one the best. I have used this recipe several times and tried some of the different suggestions from other reviewers, the only one I would suggest is to cover the roast after baking (with foil and perhaps also a few dish towels) until it reaches a temp of 145 (this usually takes 10 minutes or so.)
