About this Cook
I'm married with three boys ages 5 and 8. Sometimes they can be pretty picky but I don't limit my menus to foods they think they'll like. It's amazing how many recipes I've tried that I was certain they wouldn't eat only to find they loved it.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook anything. I'm just learning about baking, I'm too impatient for baking. As I practice more and slow down I learn I'm able to make most of anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is mostly Scandanavian. My grandmother makes the most wonderful foods and her plum pudding is amazing. I've never attempted it on my own but everytime I have my mom or grandma near by I con them into helping me practice.
My cooking triumphs
Easter brunch for neighbors. I was proud of my menu and I think I had something that everyone liked.
My cooking tragedies
My very first tragedy was when I was in the 8th grade. I was babysitting my sister and made Mac N Cheese (from a box). I didn't drain the water before adding the milk, butter and cheese. I made her eat it anyway :( . My most current tradgey was my first attempt at yeast rolls. They didn't rise very much but I tried to bake them anyway. They were terrible.

'Adios, Turkey' Casserole
Very good. Brought this to an office luncheon and everyone enjoyed it. Made it with corn tortillas and fresh mushrooms.

Sugar Cookie Drops
So good and so easy. I added almond extract because I love that flavor. Also colored my sugar before rolling.
