Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
Wow! Based on other reviews, I cut the brown sugar in half and added a bit of cinnamon & nutmeg. Even my daughter who hates oatmeal like it! This will be a regular breakfast item in our house.

Sausage Cabbage Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
Even my very picky son liked this. I do agree with other posts, add the can of diced tomatoes and some extra cabbage. I added 1/2 cup beef stock only because I had some in my fridge to use. It was a good consistency.

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
I made this at my husbands request, but wasn't sure if I'd like it. It turned out really good and will become a regular in my house. The flavors were not very mild and built up more with each bite, just getting better! I highly recommend making it. I only changed 2 very small things. I used brown rice flour to make it gluten free, and also used leftover rotisserie chicken instead of a breast. My husband did say I should add a little more rice next time.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
This is so good! Even the kids love it. I like to cook the sausage, and then throw everything in the crockpot. I used 4 fresh large tomatoes instead of canned because we have them from the garden. I added the zucchini about mid-day. I added some leftover brown rice too for extra fill and fiber. If you add cooked rice, only add it about an hour or two before you eat, or it may soak up too much juice. I may add Quinoa next time. This is a good base all on it's own.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Easy recipe. My puppy really enjoys them. I am too lazy to roll and cut into shapes, so I just spread it on a jelly roll pan and cut them with a pizza cutter after baking for 25 min for a chewier treat. I did add 1/2 cup rolled oats. This is much cheaper than buying treats!

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
This was wonderful. We loved the different flavors all combined. My 20 month old scarfed it down before I even sat down at the table and he kept wanting more! My 4 yr old daughter liked it too but my 7 yr old son didn't, only because he doesn't like nuts. This is a keeper recipe!

We were pleasantly surprised! My daughter even wanted 3rds! I did not add the curry because we don't have any. We did add a an of mandarin oranges and that was delicious!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2008
Yum! The only thing I changed was omitted the onion because I don't like them, and I used a red pepper instead of green because that is what I had. This was a big hit! My new favorite chili recipe.

Salmon and Spinach Fettuccine

This is now a favorite of my entire family! My kids LOVED it and my 6 year old son wants it for his special birthday dinner. I left out the capers because I don't like them.

Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
This is awesome! I made two batches, one with nuts, and one with peanut butter added. Both are great, but I am in love with the peanut butter version. I did it on the stove because I didn't have a big enough microwave safe bowl.

Bow Tie Pasta with Sausage and Sweet Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
I like to start with the recipes as written, then modify it the next time I make it. We did enjoy this, but it was a little bland. Next time I will add some spinach and some garlic for added flavor and health benefits to boot!

Leftover Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2004
This is super easy to make! I used turkey and since I didn't have cream of chicken, I used cream of celery. I didn't have mixed vegetables, so I used a can of corn. My family liked it. I'll be making it more just because it's super easy and tastes pretty good.

Party Kielbasa

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2004
Everyone liked it. I didn't really know what to make with it so I just put the sausage on a bed of rice and had a side of corn. I think I could have used less ketchup and jelly. Next time I also think I'll add some pineapple and yellow peppers.

Tropical Carrot-Apple Juice

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
I didn't add beets because we don't like them. The flavor was really good but couldn't get past the texture. Doing it in a blender just doesn't work. We don't like to chew our drinks. I did blend for a long time, but just didn't smooth out enough for us.
