Green Tea Mint Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
Tasty and unique. I tasted more peppermint than green tea, so if you are hesitant because of that ingredient, be not afraid. I didn't have the patience for shaping, so I rolled into balls and then flattened them. These cookies don't brown much, even when they are done, so watch carefully. Not surprisingly, these are a great cookie to have with tea!

Honey Wheat Bread II

Don't let the ease of this recipe fool you - it's great! I used one less cup of flour and liked the moist texture. Lovely!

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Healthy, easy, and tasty. I used half the soy sauce and didn't add the 1/2 Tablespoon salt -- that would be REALLY salty!

Chinese Shrimp and Tofu Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Easy and tasty. A great weeknight meal that is healthy and satisfying. I added a handful of sliced mushrooms, which I would do again. I also used precooked shrimp, thawed them out with the oil and garlic ginger mix, then cut them into spoon sized pieces. Use firm tofu...embrace this - it's tasty and much less expensive than meat!

Greek Salad Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Easy, tasty, and healthy. I made this even easier by using pre-made Boboli pizza crust. I spread the crust with the chopped rosemary and the olive oil and heated it in the oven. We even put a little lettuce on top of the finished product. This could be a good appetizer cut into small pieces as well.

Oatmeal Banana Cupcakes

Definitely muffins, not cupcakes. Easily adjust the recipe to suit your taste. I added raisins and walnuts.

Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
This is a great cake for those who don't want gobs of thick traditional frosting. It is moist and full of flavor, but not too sweet. *This is also great as a coffee-cake type of sweet. Great with coffee or tea or for a sweet breakfast treat.* It tasted even better the next day! I took the advice of other reviewers and added 2 teaspoons almond extract and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to the batter.

Holiday Wreath Treats™

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Easy, fun, and decorative. We made ours with Special K cereal for a slightly different texture. I suggest buttering your hands, then rolling a handful into a long strip before making the loop. I know buttering your hands sounds gross, but it's really the only way to effectively handle the warm mixture.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Easy to make and tastes great. You can use frozen spinach - it doesn't matter. I simplified by boiling the potatoes in the broth until they were almost done, then added the rest of it for about five more minutes. That makes it a one-pot meal.

Little Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
The taste largely depends on the BBQ sauce you choose. I mixed and let the other ingredients sit overnight to help the flavors blend.

Chocolate Rocky Road Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Very rich and very sweet. I feel like it needs one more flavor - has anyone added white chocolate chips or caramel?

Italian Sausage Soup

Hearty and wonderful. easy to make. You could hurry this recipe if you don't have time for all the simmering. Leftovers heat up great.

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Easier than they sound, and really spooky! Roll the fingers thin, because they do plump up when they bake. Be careful when you remove the almond because they are very hot! Nice taste and texture. These were a hit at my Halloween party.

Curry and Coconut Milk Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Excellent - it seems too easy to taste this good! Forget chicken noodle - next time I am sick, I am making this one. It will clear out the sinuses and soothe the throat. I used one tablespoon curry paste.

Quick and Easy Chicken and Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Really tasty and really easy. Surprisingly good! This is a good recipe to keep handy since you don't need any fresh ingredients - just freeze the chicken and keep the rest of the cans in the pantry.

Besan Ladoo

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
Made this for a dinner party where no one had had ladoo before. Most people thought it was "interesting," and finished their ball, but didn't ask for more. This will be liked by those who do not like very sugary sweets.

Authentic South Indian Biryani

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
I made this for a dinner party, and everyone was pleased. Some Indian food is too spicy for the average middle class American, but this was liked by all. I doubled the spice, per the other reviewers, but it was still a little bland. I kept the rice separate and spooned the mix on top of it on the plate.

Kheer (Rice Pudding)

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
An interesting twist on rice pudding. If you are using white rice, double the amount or it will be far too watery. I suggest being conservative with the rose water - a little goes a long way! Next time I will mix in only 1/4 teaspoon, then taste it and add drops until I reach the flavor I want.

Chunky Apple Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
I served this to about 10 people and all of them liked it. This is a good breakfast bread that balances the "healthy" and "indulgent" sides of breakfast foods. Next time I will try brushing the top with buttermilk and butter to enhance the crust.
