Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Very good! I substituted the sour cream for yoghurt, only because I have none at home. I didn't change a thing, just tripled the recipe. Great bread! Thank you for sharing Janet!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

The only thing I changed : instead of using oil, I used melted butter. And I baked it for just 50 mins at 350 degF. Super velvety, super chocolaty without being too sweet. Excellent recipe. Thank you for sharing!

Jumbo Fluffy Walnut Apple Muffins

I baked these yesterday. Double all the ingredients and made 24 regular sized muffins. Baked at 375 degrees for 23 mins. I skipped the fancy crumble top and reduced 40% of the sugar (just me, I don't like them too sweet). Still came out soft and yummy. Thanks for sharing!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

I baked this yesterday. Since I don't like to have too much sugar in my cakes, I halved the sugar...it turned out really good...a bit rough / crumbly...but probably it would taste better a few days later? But in any case, the citrus taste and the cranberries are a great combo! Will be making them again!

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

The dough is rather difficult to work with. Mine was messy and there is no way I could roll it out into a nice circle to form the base of my pie dish! It crumbles up. It's just too soft. What did I do wrong? Once baked, it was also too crumbly, it isn't at all "flaky", more "crumbly". Smells good and tastes alright though.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Great recipe! 1/2 of the batter was given white and black mini chic chips, the other 1/2, I added rum soaked raisins. Wow! The raisins ones were AWESOME! I halved the amount of white sugar in this recipe, by the way. Thanks for sharing!

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

Very good cake with excellent texture. Not sure why some didnt like it. I reduced the quantity of the sugar though, but that's only because I never like my cakes too sweet. I reduced the sugar by 15%.

Banana Crumb Muffins

I increased the recipe by 4 times and no regrets. Everyone at work LOVED this!! I followed the recipe exactly. The best part, according to most people that is, is the crumble. :) Thanks for this recipe! This is a keeper.

Homesteader Cornbread

This is not at all soft and fluffy...it is quite dense. Different from what I have expected and read about. I soaked the cornmeal for 20 mins, but I didn't mix it in a mixer for > 5 mins. Could that be the reason? I also added a tablespoon of honey. It is quite disappointing. It turned up flat and dense.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

I didn't have shortening, so used butter instead. Threw in 100gram of pounded almonds too. It didn't turn out as soft and moist as what has been described by many. I think mine was rather dry, could be the addition of the almonds. I didn't use 2 tsp of almond essence either. Used 1 tsp of that and 1 tsp of vanilla.

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Strange...but it was kinda salty. I think the amt of salt in the recipe is wrong. And it wasn't sweet enough. I'm not into too much sugar, but I thought it was still missing something sweet. But it's soft and like the rest, I added cinnamom and nutmeg to mine. Overall, not bad, just go easy on the salt and add a little more sugar.

Banana Cake V

Great cake. Instead of sour cream, I added same amount of milk. That could be why my cake took at least 15 more mins to back. The outside was crusty and brown while the instead was still soft. Overall however, it's a great cake. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
