Special K Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2015
Warning: These are addicting! I took the advice of other reviewers and only microwaved the mixture for two minutes instead of four to avoid over cooking. Others claim the cookies will be rock hard if you over cook the mixture. The texture is soft, like a firm caramel. I used Special K cereal, but you can use other kinds of cereal. My husband took them to work and his coworkers asked for the recipe. They are super easy to make. This is a good recipe for summer time when you want cookies but don't want to use the oven to avoid heating up the house.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: May 26, 2015
It was very good. I'll make it again. Tip: Use a slow cooker plastic liner to make clean up super easy! You can find them in ziplock bag isle at the store. It's like a baking bag that you put in your slow cooker. Then when you're ready to clean up you just throw the bag away and you're done! Once you use these liners you'll never go back to the old way again.

Fried Broccoli

Reviewed: May 22, 2015
I used fresh broccoli because that's what I had and it was great. It is crunchy with fresh broccoli. I imagine it would be softer with frozen. This is a good, easy and basic recipe.

Red Beans and Rice from Hillshire Farm®

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2015
It was just ok. It never thickened, so it was runny. My family doesn't want me to make it again.

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2015
This recipe is good as is. I recommend spraying the bottom of your baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to make clean up easier. I also recommend using seasoned salt instead of regular salt for added flavor.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Quick, easy and good. Leftovers were even better! I fried small corn tortilla strips to sprinkle on top. Everyone agreed the tortilla strips were the perfect touch.

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2014
It can be eaten after 8 hours. I tasted it after 8 hours and it was good. I cooked it for the full 22 hours before I served it to my family. It fell apart (almost crumbled) after the 22 hours. My husband and son loved it and said they would like for me to make it again. It's a keeper.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2014
These are good, dry cookies. Dry is not a bad thing, I'm just stating it in case you are looking for a moist cookie recipe - this is not it. They also crumble easily, so they are not ideal for shipping. The combination of oats, peanut butter and chocolate chips is yummy.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2014
This was good but I gave it four stars instead of five because it was bland. I recommend adding salt and pepper to the ground beef and potatoes for additional flavor.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2014
This is great! I sprinkled the Cajun seasoning directly on the chicken (because I'm too lazy to put it in the bag) and it worked well. It was very good as is, but I prefer stronger flavors, so I added more Cajun seasoning to the sauce for my personal preference. Next time I will add one minced garlic clove for more flavor.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2014
This was the best banana bread recipe I've ever had. It was moist and delicious. Dusting the pan with the cinnamon and sugar gave it a nice touch. It was a big hit at my ladies' Bible study class. I don't need to search for any other banana bread recipes. It's a keeper.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2014
This was a tasty dish. The beef sirloin was so tender that it almost fell apart. If you like your bell peppers with a little crunch, I recommend adding them about one hour before the end of cook time. I served it over a bed of white rice. I like spicy dishes, so next time I plan to add about one-half sliced jalapeño or a tsp. crushed peppers.

Roasted Chicken Salad Bites

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2014
This was great. I used a store bought rotisserie chicken so that I wouldn't heat up the house on a hot summer day. It was very convenient. This was easy to make and delicious. I recommend it.

Mediterranean Pasta

Reviewed: May 30, 2014
This was great. I added one minced garlic clove before simmering, otherwise stuck to the recipe. It was even better the next day for leftovers because the pasta absorbed more of the flavor.
