About this Cook
I have been cooking all of my life. For some of that time I worked as a professional baker and cook. I would make cookies, rolls, entrées, soups, and desserts. And I still make those things today.

I love baking, especially cookies. They are my specialty.

Making homemade chicken soup when I am feeling homesick or it is cold outside.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph is my parents came to my house for Thanksgiving one year. My Dad ranted and raved about the turkey I prepared and insisted that I make the turkey next year. So every Thanksgiving I spend with my parents I have made the turkey.
My cooking tragedies
My Biggest cooking tragedy was I made a 6 layer dark chocolate cake for my Mother-in-law’s birthday. It was a Martha Stewart recipe, so very complicated. I spent two days making that cake but I read the recipe wrong and the cake ended up to be dense and dry. We ended up throwing half of it away.

Banana Pumpkin Bread
Yum!!! I didn't have any pumpkin so I used butternut squash. This was a great recipe to use up my yucky bananas. Neither the banana nor the butternut squash were too overpowering. I saw that many of the reviews said it was really mushy so I replaced the honey with sugar and I made muffins instead of bread. The mini muffins took about 15 minutes and the regular muffins took about 22 minutes. I iced the muffins with powdered sugar and milk glaze and I added about a half a bag of mini chocolate chips. This might just be a new autumn tradition.

Chicken and Lentils with Rosemary
The chicken was very good and the kids even at it-amazing! But there was way too many lentils for 4 servings. Next time I will cut the lentils in half. But very yummy! Also, I think it would be good with smaller pieces of chicken, like drumsticks and wings, or maybe just chunks of chicken.

Cream of Coconut Cake
I am sure it is a good recipe, but I changed some things after reading some of the reviews. What I made was great but didn't really follow the recipe. I made the cake like the recipe said but also added coconut extract to the batter. When the cake came out of the oven I poured coconut syrup on it. Also I added coconut extract to the frosting. So if you want more coconut flavor, that is what I did and it tastes like I am back in Hawaii. I hope that helps.
