Fudge Truffle Cheesecake

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is an AMAZING, rich, chocolatey cheesecake!! I took this to a party at a friends house, and not a single crumb was left. Everyone was amazed that I made this from scratch.

French Onion Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
This is fantastic!! I used V8 low sodium tomato juice for my base. The bullion has a lot of sodium already, and I wanted to make sure it wasn't to salty. I used 3 cloves of fresh garlic, that I minced and added to the onions when they were almost done. I also added just a dash of fresh cracked pepper. This was an amazingly tasty tomato soup!

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
These are FANTASTIC! I did add a little seasoning to the flour mixture (garlic powder and seasoning salt) and I basted the wings, rather than just pour it all in, but these were a hit with my entire family and not one wing was left!!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
I made this for a large crowd, and it was a HUGE hit! A nice change for spaghetti sauce and noodles. Kids and adults alike loved it! Definitely add the white wine for flavor though (we made it once at home without and we were disappointed).

Chicken Hurry

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
I made a few small changes: First, I used chicken legs instead of a whole chicken cut into pieces. I doubled the sauce recipe and added 2 TSP of worcestershire sauce and 2 TBS of red wine vinegar. This added a little tang to the chicken so that the sweetness of the ketchup and brown sugar wasn't so over powering. My family LOVED it!!

Country Crunch Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I wanted to make something a little extra special for my kids, and having all but the blue berries, I decided to make this for them. These were great! Really good flavor and nice and filling. I'm going to keep frozen blue berries on hand for the next time I make these, as I'm sure they'd be even better.

Basil Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
As it's written, this is a little bland. Her are some things I added or changed: I added 1 cup of fresh broccoli. Frozen would work too, but I had some on hand. I added 1 small can of mushrooms. I didn't have heavy whipping cream, so I used milk, doubling the sauce recipe, and I added 8 oz. of lt. Kraft cream cheese to thicken the sauce. I used lemon pepper in place of black pepper, and I double the amount of basil. I also add 1 tsp of granulated garlic to the sauce. My kids really loved this, and it made it more of a complete meal.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2007
I made these basically the way the recipe was written (I used 2 cups of sugar instead of 3) and they really turned out great! One thing I noticed was that they didn't need to be baked anywhere near 35 minutes. At 20 minutes, they smelled done. Any more time than that, and they would have been overcooked and dry. It's important to use butter, not margarine (my friend made these the same day I did, and the margarine really changed the texture) and beat well after adding each egg. This is an excellent recipe!!

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
After reading reviews that many thought this cake was to dense, I substituted cake flour for all purpose flour. As a result, I didn't find this cake to be dense at all. It's also very important to not overmix the batter! Thos two tips should ensure a super light and moist cake. The filling and icing on this cake just couldn't be beat!!

Lemon Kolaches

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
This recipe was DELICOUS! I had to modify it ever so slightly - I was out of lemon zest, so I used orange - but it had a wonderful texture and was really light, not doughy. The cream cheese filling was so smooth, a perfect compliment to the texture of the bread. One thing to note: the recipe says 30 min. prep time and 40 minute cook time. It took me much longer than that. I'm thinking they're just talking about the dough rising, but altogether, I'd say it took me well over 2 hours to make these. They're worth it though!!

Honey Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
I'm trying to find new recipes to grill with, since we got a Foreman grill for Christmas. I noted the comments for an earlier Foreman user, so I made some modifications. First, I noted that some of the users found this chicken to be bland, so I seasoned the breasts lightly before I grilled them. I basted them with red. sodiums soy sauce, and a little garlic powder. When the breasts were almost done, I then based them with the honey glaze, lightly, and then again as I was pulling them off the grill. I had only one breast start to "smoke" when I wasn't paying attention, lol, but I got it quickly, and it tasted good. My whole family, including my picky 3 year old who doesn't eat meat these days, really enjoyed this chicken. We'll definately be eating these again!

Amazingly Good Eggnog

the only change I make to this is to omit the rum so it's kid friendly. My family loves this! The flavor is smooth and just the right texture. You will never buy eggnog again after making this recipe!

this is WONDERFUL!!! I doubled the recipe, and keep it in the fridge now so that I can make fresh garlic bread at a moments notice. Even cheap bread tastes great with this yummy garlic butter spread.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
Exactly as it says, quick and easy! I didn't actually measure the ingredients, I just coated the chicken and cooked it in the electric skillet until done. I did use a yummy garlic butter (from this site) that I had handy in the refrigerator, in place of plain butter, and that added a nice zip to this as well, but I'm sure regular butter would be fine.

Italian Baked Cannelloni

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
This was delicous!!! Not one child complained, my husband was willing to take this as leftovers the next day for lunch. The flavor on this was just divine. The only 'adjustment' I made was to add a little salt, personal preference. A new family favorite!
