Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
I have been using this recipe for 2 years now. It is excellent when chicken is substituted & paired with the Red Enchilada Sauce (also on this site) for a outstanding chicken enchilada dish. Also, whenever chuck roast goes on sale, I buy one & cook it with this recipe & then use it for the beef filling in the Beef Tamales on this site as well. It makes a lot, so I freeze half of them in gallon size freezer bags - then when I want to eat one, I just steam it for about 15 minutes - so good! They hold in the freezer for 6 months. This really is a wonderful base recipe that you can use with all meats to make fillings for all sorts of dishes. And, its easy!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Wonderful recipe! The only thing that I changed was I added some fresh chopped garlic, and I changed the way I layered it. I mixed the sauce & noodles up before layering into the dish so that the sauce would get into them all and there would not be any dry noodles. Then I added the sour cream, then the cheese. I will definatly be making this one again. Love it!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
The best! This is the recipe I always use when making pancakes. They are also good if you add some chocolate chips, or cover them in a homemade strawberry sauce. Can't get any better than this!

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
I have made this tons of times. I substitute the angel food cake for pound cake & use homemade strawberry topping (from this site) instead of the storebought glaze. I also double the cream cheese mixture. Like other, I layer mine in a bowl as a triffle.

Creamy Spiced Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Very good coleslaw recipe! I used 3/4 cup of mayo & 1/4 cup of sour cream. I have always found that to be the secret of a good coleslaw. I did not have any celery seed, so I used celery salt. I also added a good sprinkling of Janes Crazy Salt. Extremely good!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I do not really care for banana pudding, but my kids do - so I made this yesterday for them, and I ended up trying a piece because it was such a different recipe than the one I usually use on the back of the Nilla Wafer box. It was so rich & creamy - very decadent!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
This is my first apple pie & it turned out wonderfully! It was so pretty & tasted so good! The only thing that I did different was brush some of the sauce on the top of the crust, per another reviewer - and I also sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on top of the crust before baking. I will definatly be making this again - so tremendously yummy!

This slaw is the best I've ever tasted! Even my brother in law, who usually hates anything that isnt a snack food, went back for a big second helping. This is the recipe that I will always use for slaw from now on!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
I have made this several times now - and my family and I just love it. Instead of using the graham cracker crust, I crush up some nutter butter cookies and add in a couple tablespoons of melted butter. Its so good!

Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
I love this recipe as is & I also love to make more of a sauce using this recipe as a base. I serve the original recipe on sandwiches, but I do usually add fresh garlic to it. When I turn this recipe into a dipping sauce, I add ranch dressing, double the chilies, & add lots of fresh garlic. Its just heavenly when paired with Connie's Zucchini 'Crab' Cakes from this site!

Southern Living magazine's Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2005
This stew is excellent! The only change I made is a added about 3/4 cup bbq sauce towards the end of cooking just because I love the flavor bbq sauce gives to brunswick stew. Awesome recipe, the whole family loved it..even the 4 and 5 year olds!

Dad's Pan-Fried Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
Very good! Hubby doesn't like green beans, but he really enjoyed these! I used olive oil instead of sesame oil & omitted the balsamic vinegar (didn't have either) and it was great. Thanks for the great recipe!
