London Broil I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
This recipe is just plain awesome! I had my doubts at first with the ketchup and veg oil, gave it a try anyhows. It was super juicy! My mother in law said it was the best steak she had ever eaten and my husband said that it was so juicy it "watered his mouth". Only thing that I did different was add a little bit more garlic cause we love garlic in my house! Definatly gonna make it again!

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
I did not care for this dish very much, and neither did the rest of my family. My husband, who is usually very easy to please with meals, did not like it at all because it tasted very bland. I took the tips from others and added chicken broth, and also added some extra garlic...but it just didnt do much. The chicken was very juicy and moist, but just very very unflavorful. I will not be making this recipe again.

Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2005
I have to say I was disapointed by this recipe. It was just o.k...nothing special. If I made it again, I would totally omit the bread crumbs and just crust the chicken with garlic and cook it in a mixture of olive oil and butter. All you can taste is the bread crumbs in this recipe!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
I have been using this recipe for 2 years now. It is excellent when chicken is substituted & paired with the Red Enchilada Sauce (also on this site) for a outstanding chicken enchilada dish. Also, whenever chuck roast goes on sale, I buy one & cook it with this recipe & then use it for the beef filling in the Beef Tamales on this site as well. It makes a lot, so I freeze half of them in gallon size freezer bags - then when I want to eat one, I just steam it for about 15 minutes - so good! They hold in the freezer for 6 months. This really is a wonderful base recipe that you can use with all meats to make fillings for all sorts of dishes. And, its easy!

Banana Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2005
This banana bread really didnt taste as good as I expected it too with the high rating. The banana bread mix at the grocery store tastes better in my opinion. Sorry.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2005
This is an edited review...first I gave it a 3 star because of the heavy chicken stock flavor. I had a surplus of broccoli from Costco today though, and decided to attempt this one again with modifications. I used a 32 oz box of chicken stock, and added a little over a cup of water. I doubled the broccoli, and added 1 pound of shredded colby cheese. I also used 1.5 cups of milk, and 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. It turned out sensational with the modifications.

Southern Living magazine's Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2005
This stew is excellent! The only change I made is a added about 3/4 cup bbq sauce towards the end of cooking just because I love the flavor bbq sauce gives to brunswick stew. Awesome recipe, the whole family loved it..even the 4 and 5 year olds!

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2005
I thought that this chicken was excellent. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. My husband however thought there was too much crust, but I like mine extra crispy.
