Watermelon Slush

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
This is a really good recipe. This is also good as a refreshing summer drink. Just cut the recipe in half, and throw it in the blender with some ice, and blend to perfection!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
These are honestly the best blueberry muffins that I have ever had! I followed other suggestions & used brown sugar instead of white sugar for the crumb topping. I used softened butter to mix together, and then popped the crumb mixture in the freezer for about 10 minutes to get the nice crumbly consistency. I doubled the batter & filled the muffin cups nearly to the top like the recipe submitter suggested, and also added some extra blueberries. I did not double the crumb mixture though, and I still had too much, so I would definatly reduce the crumb mixture my half next time while still doubling the muffin batter.

London Broil II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
I added a few tablespoons of worcestershire sauce & a couple teaspoons of lemon juice as per other reviews. I substituted olive oil for the vegetable oil as well. Grilled on my grill pan about 5 mins on each side and it turned out wonderful.

Texas Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
This was pretty good, although I prefer a basic mayo coleslaw - my hubby however has never cared for any kind of coleslaw & refuses to eat it, and he actually had a big helping of this. Instead of jalepeno peppers, I used fresh cayenne & red hot cherry peppers from my garden.

Barbeque Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
The bbq sauce definatly makes this dish! It is SO good! I used bone-in skinless chicken thighs & I also doubled the sauce. I omitted the water all together from the bbq sauce and added a couple dashes of Frank's Red Hot Sauce. Cooked for 15 minutes with just a few pads of butter & salt, pepper, and garlic powder on top. Then coated with half of the bbq sauce, cooked for 20 minutes, and then basted with the rest of the sauce, and cooked for 10 more minutes. 45 minutes total. Next time I might triple the sauce just so we can have some for dipping on the side. The whole family loved this dish, and I will be making it again!

Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
I have been frying my pork chops like this for years, but never thought of applying that same method to fried green tomatoes before. I'm glad that I came across this recipe - it will be the way that I fry my green tomatoes from now on. It is even better when served along side Chipotle Mayo also from this site. Delish!

Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
Very good! I used english muffins instead of the french bread - and topped it off with sliced advocado, tomato, & a squirt of ranch dressing. Provolone cheese is also good with this!

Very good! I have made this many times! Sometimes I use Cheese Crackers instead of Ritz for a cheesier kick :)

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Very good! I did not use the red or green peppers due to personal preference, and I used the pre-cooked grilled chicken strips from Tyson because I had them on hand. The family raved!

Country Fried Squash

Very good! I used yellow crookneck squash and it turned out wonderful. Make sure you salt the hot squash to taste after you remove them from the pan and drain them on paper towels.

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Excellent recipe! I didn't change a thing, except that I sliced 1/2" thick slices off of a block of fresh mozzarella and made more of a cheese patty so to speak. They were awesome!

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
I have made this tons of times. I substitute the angel food cake for pound cake & use homemade strawberry topping (from this site) instead of the storebought glaze. I also double the cream cheese mixture. Like other, I layer mine in a bowl as a triffle.

White Berry Pie

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
4 stars as written, 5 stars with a couple minor alterations! I doubled the amount of white chocolate called for. I used a whole 10 oz bag of white chocolate chips, and melted about 6 oz to mix into the cream cheese & whipped topping mixture. I also used a whole 8 oz package of cream cheese instead of the 3oz called for and sprinkled in a little more confectioners sugar. I sliced the berries, & drizzled the remaining 4oz of melted white chocolate on top. The more strawberries you can fit in your pie, the better it turns out! A word to the wise though! Make sure you use the freshest berries you can, and try to eat the pie in as timely as a fashion as you are able to. Otherwise, you will have a runny strawberry juicy mess!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Wonderful recipe! The only thing that I changed was I added some fresh chopped garlic, and I changed the way I layered it. I mixed the sauce & noodles up before layering into the dish so that the sauce would get into them all and there would not be any dry noodles. Then I added the sour cream, then the cheese. I will definatly be making this one again. Love it!

Creamy Spiced Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Very good coleslaw recipe! I used 3/4 cup of mayo & 1/4 cup of sour cream. I have always found that to be the secret of a good coleslaw. I did not have any celery seed, so I used celery salt. I also added a good sprinkling of Janes Crazy Salt. Extremely good!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
The best! This is the recipe I always use when making pancakes. They are also good if you add some chocolate chips, or cover them in a homemade strawberry sauce. Can't get any better than this!
