Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Awesome recipe! I follow the recipe exactly, except for one thing - and that is using milk chocolate chips instead of semi sweet - just because I prefer the taste of that. These are so very yummy!

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Awesome! When I make this, I use salted saltines being that is what I always have on hand - and I prefer the taste of milk chocolate to semisweet. This tastes like chocolate toffee, and is addictive!

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
While this does turn out to be a very tender way of preparing cube steak - the flavor is just not there. It is extremely bland, even with added seasoning salt, onions, & garlic. I won't be making this again.

Bob's Habanero Hot Sauce - Liquid Fire

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
Awesome stuff, and great way to use a full harvest of habaneros! This made several jars of hot sauce that we are still using, and my husband absolutly loves it - even 'paints' his sandwiches with it because it is so good.

Mexican Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
This recipe is easy to make - but as far as tastes go, it is nothing that grand. It is not bad tasting by any means, but not outstanding either - just ok. I have tried it a couple times, and like it better with a few modifications - but still even with the modifications, its still just ok (but better than as written). I add fresh sauteed garlic, black beans, and a can of green chiles. I also mix in the corn instead of layering it. I add cheese, and cream corn to the cornbread as well.

Jalapeno Poppers of Champions

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I have never made these with vegetarian bacon, and I know I never will - real bacon is required for this dish in my opinion! I add some shredded cheddar cheese & chopped green onions - and brush some bbq sauce on top of the bacon, and its just one of those addictive foods you can't stop eating. I give the recipe a 3-4 star as written, but a 5 star plus with a couple modifications.

World's Best Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
Very yummy, and very easy too! I used 18oz of peanut butter because my hubby likes his peanut butter, and also followed the other reviews that said to mix the flour, peanut butter, and marshmallow cream together before adding it to the sugar mixture.

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This recipe was very easy, and one that is easily builded onto. I sauteed an onion along with the chicken, along with a couple fresh banana peppers from my garden. I added a few dashes of Franks RedHot Sauce to the mixture, and used a full 15oz can of corn. I had a packet of mexican rice on hand - so I prepared that, and spread it in the bottom of the casserole dish - and I also doubled the cheese called for. It turned out very yummy, and I will definatly be making this again.

Cordon Bleu Stromboli

Very easy to prepare & pretty yum. I used leftover chicken seasoned up a bit with some garlic & a few other various seasonings. I also used refrigerated pizza dough as I always have it on hand.

Ranch Style Oyster Crackers

Ive made these several times. I really like to omit the lemon pepper seasoning, and triple the dill weed and garlic powder, just for personal preference. Really good!

Easy White Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Very good! I used leftover shredded chicken breasts instead of the packaged precooked chicken, and I added sauteed onion, a couple cans of green chiles, and some splashes of RedHot hot sauce to the chicken filling - and followed the rest of the recipe as written. It turned out excellent, and was a very flavorful dish. My husband and my kids loved it too. I will definatly be making this one again!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
This was a really easy, and yummy recipe. I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and seasoned the chicken with some chili powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper before browning. I also doubled the sauce and used cilantro instead of oregano. As for the salsa, I used some fresh salsa (from this site) instead of storebought, and everything came together wonderfully!

Strawberry Onion Salad

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
I decided to try this with having a surplus of strawberries right now, and I was surprised at how good it was! I made it exactly as written - and my whole family (hubby & 2 picky kids) really liked it. Next time I will use maybe one onion slice per salad though as it was just too much for us all.

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Very good! I made them in muffin tins instead of dropping them onto a cookie sheet because the batter seemed kind of thin for that, and they turned out wonderful - big & fluffy :)
