Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
These are awesome! I used LorAnn peppermint flavoring oil and it took 12 drops to get the mint strength about the same as a York. I started by mixing 4 drops in with the sweetened condensed milk, added the powdered sugar, kneaded and then tested. Added 4 more drops, kneaded again, etc. I used a better quality chocolate instead of chocolate chips. This recipe made 4 dozen patties, each about the size of a half dollar.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
This was fabulous. I quadrupled the batch to fit in a 9x13 for a Christmas party and it took 4 times longer to cook, so if you're wanting a big batch, be prepared to cook it for a longgg time.

White Chocolate Snack Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
I made this for Christmas last year for my brother who was stationed in Iraq with the Army. It shipped well in gallon ziplock bags and the guys loved it. I added corn chips as we like sweet and salty! Making it again this year. :) Christmas Crack for sure! Can't stop eating it!!

Crazy Dipped Pretzel Rods

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
These turned out great! We dipped in melted caramels first, froze for 10 minutes then dipped in melted chocolate, froze again then drizzled with white chocolate. We sold them individually packaged for $3 each or 2/$5 for a bake sale. If you seal them individually they will last up to 2 weeks. We used real melting chocolate rather than chocolate chips so not sure if that made a difference.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
So good!! Used another reviewer's suggestion and peeled and cooked just like white potatoes. I cut them up after I peeled them and that was very hard to do as they are much harder than regular potatoes but it made the cooking time much faster.

Easy Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
This was fantastic. Used the eggs as suggested and it was the perfect texture. I didn't have whole kernel corn so used all creamed corn and it worked just as good. Made a double batch for Thanksgiving and it was my favorite dish! Does have to cook much longer when you double it.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
MICROWAVE! I was worried about microwaving this as others had suggested as I only had enough ingredients for one try. It worked great! It took 10 minutes to thicken as much as I wanted it too. I whisked every 1 minute. I followed the recipe except for using 1/4c + 1tbsp cake flour instead of all purpose as that's what I had on hand. I will look for the coconut milk next time as I agree it could use more coconut flavor but is still awesome as-is.

Spinach and Carrot Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
FABULOUS! My first quiche ever to not come out runny. Didn't have carrots so used 16 oz. bag of frozen spinach instead. Also added 1/4 cup milk and precooked crusts. Will use this recipe from now on! Thank you!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
This worked great and was very easy! I added the oil and vanilla and flattened them a bit as suggested by other reviewers. I didn't have a cake mix but had a chocolate chip muffin mix so used that without adding extra chocolate chips and baked for 10 minutes. Made 28 small cookies.

Four Cheese Macaroni Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This recipe is a keeper for sure! It is so easy to customize to your tastes. I added an extra cup each of cheddar and mozarella, put the tomato mix on top like another reviewer suggested and also added half a jar of traditional spaghetti sauce as it looked like it would be too dry. It turned out AWESOME! It did take more like 40 minutes of bake time.

Peppermint Brittle

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
So easy a kid could do it and it looks fancy in gift baskets! Also is cheap to make! I layered white and milk chocolate like others suggested and then swirled the top a bit. If the pieces are too big they hurt your teeth so make sure to crush them good. I use the fine powder that's left over to sprinkle over the top for a sparkly finish!

Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I have made sooo many batches of these since finding this recipe! LOL They were an awesome addition to my Christmas goody baskets and I had to get them out of the house ASAP or they were gone LOL! These taste just like buckeye candy with a little crispiness from the rice crispies and are sooooo much less work!! Make them bite size and they won't melt all over your fingers. :)

Chocolate Billionaires

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
LOVED THESE! I made them for friends and family for Christmas and they were a hit! It's all about the carmel in these. I couldn't find the wrapped carmels the second time so used those little carmel balls but the package was a couple ounces less than the wrapped once and it made a huge difference. You gotta use enough carmel or they aren't nearly as good. And make sure it's fresh. I found an out of date bag of wrapped carmels at a discount store (was desperate! LOL) and the candy turned hard as a rock.

Yummiest Green Beans Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
Thank you so much for this recipe! I needed something creative to make and based on your recipe I made a great main dish with what I had. I used a canned ham, bag of frozen green beans, the red wine vinegar, regular yellow mustard and lots of pepper. Did not add any salt since the canned ham is super salty. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Sausage Gravy III

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Yum! This was my first time ever making biscuits and gravy and this recipe was super easy! It took about 10 minutes of stirring for it to get thick enough and people aren't kidding when they say to use a lot of salt and pepper! I thought I added a lot but it wasn't enough. I used fresh ground sausage from the local butcher this time and I'm going to try a spicier one next time for more flavor.

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
USE REAL BACON BITS! :) I made one with the pecans and one with real bacon bits and the bacon one was way better and was gone much faster. I also suggest NOT using the Chicken in a Biscuit crackers that others suggested. After I read the reviews I got them and they were way too salty with this already salty cheese ball. Luckily I got those big round wheat crackers too and it was great with those. Will make again and again!
